"Ready Set Go!!!!!"

Only Max and I, the 19 year olds, and the two jerks from our class can actually run up the mountain side. I see Alex, one of the jerks from the school, fall into a hole in the mud and then his partner, John, fall in too. I think to myself, how odd, when Max says to me, "This whole mountain is rigged with obstacles and there is also shortcuts into the mountains."

That explains a lot. Already 10 people have fell into the hidden holes.

Max and I dart around the holes out of view of the other people. Max runs me toward a cave. Inside I can hear other voices. Even though we hear voices of other people we run into the cave. There is two different ways and if Max and I were to run into a beast we would only have our sharpened walking sticks we found on our way up. We decide to go in the left path. After about 5 minutes of jogging we come to what looks like a gladiator ring. We look around and find nothing so we walk back to the entrance we came in but we find the entrance is closed. There is 12 different paths in the room and out of those 12 caves comes 12 beast. Each one as hideous as the next. The only way we are getting out of here alive is killing them. Luckily I am a black belt and Max does fencing.

One with wings flies from the entrance it was guarding. That was not a smart move, I think to myself, they should all attack at the same time.

I stab my walking stick straight into the wing of the beast. It sends out a shriek as black blood pours out of the its wound. Then I give it a kick in the head and send my stick flying at its heart. I miss the heart completely and hit its foot. It can no longer fly or walk. It lets out a cry then goes at my head with its unhurt talon. I am weapon less but Max is not and he hurtles the stick at the flying freak. It's a direct hit. It lands right in its temple (or at least I think it is), killing it. One down 11 more to go. We both grab our sticks and I then yell, "Max we can take them out one by one but not all at the same time."

He nods at me then advances towards the strongest looking one. This one is like a tiger but its muscular body and jaws are about 5x bigger then any regular tiger. It growls, snarls, then leaps. The tiger thing flies right over us, underestimating its own power to jump. It can't get traction on the smooth floor and is about to fall off but it hits another beast and that one hits another and so on. Soon they're tearing each other up. Only the strongest 5 survive the fight but they are much more tired now. Though, this time, they all charge together. My fist connects with a jaw, my leg connects with a wing, my spear lands in a head. I can't even tell what is happening I just punch, kick, choke, and stab whatever is nearest me. By the time I can see again I see two monsters on the ground dead, the one that earned my stick in its head and one that Max killed. This time only the three strongest were alive and me and Max were scratched up and panting heavily.

One of the beast charges. Its claws scrape across my cheek leaving it all bloody and searing with pain. It was the first time I had taken any real damage from the hideous monsters. I fuel all my anger up and let my stick fly. It landed right through the chest of the monster killing it. I then let out my anger on another beast and send it flying down the gladiator pit with a single kick. Max takes care of the last beast and uses the stick to stab the tired beast repeatedly until it falls to the ground dead. Its dark purple and ghastly green coat of fur seems to peel off the monster's body. Around us all the sickliest most disgusting heaps of bodies started to shed their skin. It suddenly dawned on me they might be reforming like in all those movies. I started to push the bodies off the platform we were on and down into the eternal blackness of the gladiator pit. Each body made a revolting squishing sound when they hit the bottom of the pits.

After scrubbing all the blood off the floor and finishing throwing the bodies down the gladiator pit we set up our tent and huddled in the large sleeping bag to keep warm.

Surprisingly I didn't have any nightmares of the beast and only had dreams, about Max and I moving on to the next round.
