Chapter 6: Complication

Liam's point of view

This course is harder than the last because instead of knowing where you are going you just kinda walk aimlessly around. We have been just looking around for hours trying to find an emerald.

Sarah and Max leave Katie and me to go 'look around' the woods. Ya right 'look around' they are probably kissing right now. But with them gone me and Katie have time alone with just each other. She looks towards me blushing most likey waiting for me to make a move. I do and step closer to her so we are only about a three inches apart. I lean forward and kiss her right on the lips. She kisses me back. We stay like this for a few more seconds. Then she pulls apart and then kisses me again and again. Her body up against mine. We pull apart when Max and Sarah come into view. Both are blushing but try to play it cool. Me and Katie do a better job at concealing what happened.

That night we each get in our seperate sleeping bags, another thing we added to our back packs. My sleeping bag is side by side with Katie so we can talk to each other. Max and Sarah do the same thing.

I feel all stiff when I wake up. I see that only Katie is up and she is gathering berries. After stretching a little I find a stick and tie a vine on to it. Then I add a hook and add a little meat from a container on to the hook. After my homemade fishing rod is finished I walk over to a nearby spring and throw the hook in the water. Almost immediately I feel pulling on my line. When I take the hook out of water I see about 25 pirranas trying to get to the meat.

Once they are all dead I put them into a container because we are low on meat. I am pretty happy about catching so many but Katie who has been wanting fish is extatic. She runs over to me and gives me a big kiss. Now I am just as excited as Katie.

About an hour later Max and Sarah were awake and eating breakfast. They ate the berries Katei gathered earlier that morning. It wasn't much but it wasn't like we had much food either. As they ate we made plans to go to the waterfalls. "I don't know about going to the waterfalls, it's a three day trip," Sarah says.

"We should trust Liam since his family goes camping every year in these woods," Max answers.

"I think the emeralds will be at the waterfalls because it would be impossible unless the emeralds were in easy to remember landmarks." I announce to everyone. Since there are two votes to go so far Katie gets to decide if we go or not since she is the last voted. Everyone waits in suspende hoping Katie will agree with them. "I kinda have to agree with.....um, Liam. Sorry Sarah. It's just that the emeralds can't just be in a random bush. They would be impossible to find."

"So it's decided that we go to the waterfalls." Max clarifies.

As we are walking towards the waterfalls Max and Sarah kiss near us showing is that they are officially dating. Max already knows that me and Katie kissed but keeps it to him self.

Soon the bright light of the sun is almost gone and it is time to set up camp. We don't have to do much since it doesn't use poles. We just take it out of the bundle it's in and it just pretty much just pops up. All of us pile into the tent at the same time, toppling over each other. All of us are laughing and enjoying ourselves when we are getting out the sleeping bags. Katie has the end most sleeping bag with me right next to her.

After everyone is asleep I slip into Katie sleeping bag. She warms me up when I touch her. I then give her a kiss that wakes her up. She snuggles next to me her head on my chest. We are so close to each other that there is not even and inch between us. Her hands are now on my face and I can feel her heart beat. It is beating rapidly.

Before she can reach the center though I pull away. She imedietly realizes why I am pulling away and says an I'm sorry before I leave her sleeping bag. I crawl into my own feeling lonely but I ignore the thought.
