Chapter 5: Placement and Alliances

Once inside the room with all the food and water we start eating and restocking our provisions for next round.

The other teams start trickling in and soon there is already 10 teams in the room. There is only 3 more slots left and luckily the two 19 year olds or the mean kids from school have come in yet.

Another team rushes in and then another. There is only one last slot and I know it is going to be either the 19 year olds or the kids from school.

I hear yelling from the treasure room, then the whoosh of the elevator. The two 19 year olds step out. They are grinning and holding a small diamond. Then about a minute later two more teams come out of the elevator empty handed. They are elimenated.

After an hour of waiting the last team still hasn't shown up. Everyone assumes they are dead. Once the elimanatees have left we are given our rankings which are based off the size of the diamond and how fast you got it. Max and I got our diamond second and had the 5th largest diamond so I assumed we were in the top three. I was right me and Max got third place behind the two with the boat and two really pretty girls who had the largest diamond.

Our team number which is 3 corresponds with the place we got along with everyone else's.

The announcer gives us 1 hour to gather supplies from a town near the mountain. Now that we know what to bring we have to change out stuff.

First we get rid of all are glass and paper products. We substitute them for foldable glass containers and rags. We also got rid of 2 pairs of shoes each because we already three other pair of shoes. Are bags are so light so we decide to get an axe, scissors, and a plastic shovel.

After getting all the stuff we needed Max suggested that we make an alliance. The alliance has to be with team 1, 2, or even 4.

First we go to team number 1. They are really boring when they talk to us and act like we should be kneeling to them since they got first place. Bratty is another great word to describe them. I whisper to Max, "Definetly not them." Max just nods his head so that team 1 doesn't think we are talking about them.

Next we go to the second place team. The two pretty girls me and Max learn are named Sarah and Katie which is the one I like. She seems to like me too. Right as we start talking we find out that we have so many things in common. The conversation goes super well and Max and Sarah seemed to have hit it off as well. Soon we are in an alliance before we even meet team 4.

Katie's point of view

Liam and Max are really nice. I can tell that Liam doesn't have much confidence but he looks so strong and sweet. He is obvisiouly talented along with Max to have got third so he seems perfect. His soft blonde hair, is rippling muscles, and how nice he is, it all seems perfect.

Soon the announcer calls us all to her. She tells is that the next course is the woods. Rumor has it that over 50 years ago the rebels were all slaughtered there. But that was 2015 and now it's 2101. DEATH, the name of the gameshow stands for diamond, emerald, amber, topaz, and the rare howlite. Wait a second those are the 5 symbols the rebels used.

She then tells us that the stones are going to be emeralds. The emeralds will be in clumps of 2,3, and 4. This works out perfectly since we are in an alliance and the emeralds come in twos or more.
