Chapter Nine: Chill out... maybe so...?
As soon as Kyle was out of sight, I fell on my knees, laughing as I lay in the mud. Okay, I may look like a crazy person that was in need of control drugs, or something. Something along those lines...
"Are you like, suddenly high?" Blond boy narrowed his eyes playfully at me. "Did you have some drugs earlier this morning and suddenly they're kicking in?"
"No, definitely not," Brown boy said, watching Mae as she lay next to me. She didn't care we were muddy, I didn't care that I was bathing in mud, and dried blood cracking off my skin. "they are both crazy, not high on drugs and whatnot."
I grinned at Mae, closing my eyes for a long second before opening them. "We're free!" I suddenly called, earning both boys to jump a little. "We're free! Free, free, free!" I could feel the aching of my body slowly kicking in.
I kept saying the words. It didn't feel real; being free. I don't think it will ever feel real to me.
"Free," Mae grinned, sitting up and running a hand through her hair.
"Yeah," Blond boy said, "for now." Yeah, free for now. Kyle won't give up until he gets what he wants; that's for sure.
I got to my feet quickly, as did Mae. "Thank you, I don't know what would have happened if you didn't show up, I think we both would have got-"
Mae bumped my shoulder, "You're babbling, again!"
I glared at Mae, grinning. "It isn't my fault!" I pushed her slightly. Mae grinned before tackling me on the floor.
Someone was a happy wolf today...
"Still not expecting the tackle, are you?" She referred to the night when we were throwing knifes at the trees, then she tackled me on the way back to the house. "I'll keep doing it until you expect it!"
We both got up.
"Yeah, thanks anyway. Come on my land anytime, but we should be getting back," I smiled, suddenly finding my bandaged wrist interesting. Gosh, these guys are hot and here I am, looking like shit.
"What happened?" Blond boy said, taking my hand in his. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!
I smiled. At least he's caring. "Nothing, but I've better go. My Dad is probably going crazy without me running the pack,"
"You're a Luna?" Brown boy said, suddenly interested in the conversation.
"Luna is not what I liked to be called. Just Alpha would be great." I paused, "Which reminds me, what are your names?" Brown boy was Rufus, blond boy was Kade. Hot names.
"Stop thinking that, especially for the brown one!" Mae snapped at me through mind link.
"What are you- OOOOHHH!" Not realising, I faced Mae as she pushed her hair behind her eyes. Amusement filled my eyes as a grin spread across my face. "He's yours, isn't he?" I felt like laughing with happiness.
She's found her mate.
"What? I... uh..." Mae scratched the back of her neck, making me grin wider.
"Go on, say it," I sang, pushing her shoulder slightly. "Go on, I know you want to..."
"Don't! You are embarrassing me!" Mae squeaked, making me laugh. "The guys, especially Kade, thinks you've gone crazy."
"Crazy?" I said out loud, glancing at Kade- the blond boy- who had a confused look to his face. "I'm not crazy! You're the one whose found your mate!" I pointed at Rufus, laughing my ass off.
