Chapter Eleven: Imaginary friend? ...Nahh....

For the next two days, I was practically dying not having my partner in crime here. All I did was stare at the walls, consumed by boredom. Then I remembered that Red was suddenly there.

He was sat at the foot of my bed, examining his nails then brushing his suit from invisible creases.

"I heard that Kyle rang you, well, through Kade's land-line," Red said, his black nails scratching his red hair. Red's red eyes were blazingly bright, last time I saw them they were... dimmer.

"Oh yeah, well, I ain't going to him," I stated. No way in Hell, was I going back to him. I don't care if he has 'advice' or whatever shit he's got.

It's probably a trap just so he can kidnap me and find a way to get my land again. Which the chance is high, considering what Kyle has just done.

"Why don't you tell me about demons yourself? You are the Devil as you proclaim," I said, shrugging. It would make sense for someone to tell me about about demons and whatnot if they're family, right?

"I would, but then that would be helping a fellow demon, which goes against the rules." I grunted at his reply.

"You're helping me by telling me to go to Kyle, so either way, you are breaking your rules. And I am your granddaughter, aren't I?" I cocked an eye brow, then going to the window to shut the curtains. It was getting dark quickly.

"Yes, you are my granddaughter, but still, I won't get punished for telling you to go to Kyle than telling you all the advice myself," He let out a chuckle. "I don't make the rules, Lexi, somebody higher up on the chain makes 'em."

"You're saying, that there is somebody higher than the Devil himself?" I stared at Red in shock.

Well, this is new...

"Yes, there is somebody higher on the chain than me, so don't act surprised," He let out another chuckle, showing his sharp teeth. Ultra sharp teeth.

"So," I began, sitting at the head of the bed, "what brings you here tonight? You keep appearing more often,"

"Ah, I told your mother that you said to hurry her ass along. She laughed before going back to work, now she's is working twice as hard to see you and-"

My bedroom door swung open.

"Hey Dad," I said, alarmed. I wasn't sure if Dad would be happy that a man, well, possibly a stranger to him, was sat on my bed.

Dad narrowed his eyes, before scanning the room. I took a glance at Red, he was now stood by the window. "What are you doing?"

"I... nothing," I quickly said. Maybe Dad couldn't see Red in my room?

"Who were you talking to?" Nope, definitely cannot see Red pulling daft faces at him, and giving him the finger. Ugh, why is he so childish?

"Um... myself?" Dad narrowed his eyes more.

"Are you sure that imaginary friend came back? I can get you those pills again if he has," Yeah, I did have an imaginary friend when I was like four. He went and never came back after that.

"No, Dad, William hasn't came back. He's long gone."

He mumbled something that even my own ears couldn't pick up.

Red laughed so loud, I jumped and Dad stared at me. "Are you sure he hasn't came back?" I nodded at him, confusion slightly washing his face.

He scanned the room once more before saying, "Alright, get some sleep," He kissed my forehead slowly and left the room.
