Rain's POV
I wasn't always this way. Some rare people are born this way, we'll guess what- I wasn't. If they hadn't let Popcorn loose,(my friend's yellow lab) this whole thing wouldn't have happened. Maybe I should tell you the story first.
Yesterday,my friend Kait texted me saying her new dog was with them long enough, to be let outside. Unfortunately, Popcorn was just still a year old puppy (and they got him when he was 10 months) so he was just too curious. They thought it would be nice to let him sniff the fresh night air, and I hadn't seen him yet so of course I said yes to come with them. He was pretty controlled at first, but then night creatures came out and he went crazy. He chased a squirrel into the street,(being me not wanting to see him get hurt)I ran after him and grabbed his collar, but not soon enough.
What's that sound? Uh oh. Car. *Smack* I managed to get Popcorn back on the sidewalk,or at least not hit by the car. I went blind in my left eye.
Now here I am,in a hospital bed, with my two friends Ethan and Kait looking at me with concerned expressions.
"Are you alright? Can you hear me?" asked Ethan.
"Mmmm" I moan as I roll over. I'll speak when I'm ready.
