Kait's POV
Since it was Saturday,I drove to Dick's Sporting Goods and grabbed the mannequin to bring it to the pay counter{I don't know what it's professional name is so shush it}. The clerk gave me a weird look, then quickly found the price tag and scanned it.
"That'll be 12.34 ma'am." the clerk said, but I looked at his nametag which said 'Josh'. I handed Josh the money, picked up the mannequin, and walked out the door to my car. As I fumbled with my keys I felt someone watching me;I immediately, slowly scanned the parking lot for a lone figure- and crapola..I found it.
He wasn't in black, like in the movies. Or in a trench coat if that's what you're picturing. He was wearing a light orange plaid shirt, tan skinny jeans, and a necklace with a pendant on it. When he started waking toward me,I froze. What did he want? Who is this guy anyway? In no time,he had almost reached me so I jumped back to reality and quickly opened the driver door, closed it,threw the mannequin in the backseat, and looked in the side view mirror- he was at my door tapping on the window.
Okay, now that I had a better look at him,I have to admit he was a little hot. His eyes were light blue in the middle, with a ring of dark blue on the outer part which looked like they had crystals embedded in the light blue part. He had golden blonde hair and tanned skin that made it look like he was from Arizona or Hawaii. Basically a really warm place where you can tan fairly easily.
I opened my window just enough that we could clearly hear each other. "Yes?" I asked innocently. Get a grip, he's not Cameron Dallas trying to scold you.
"We need to talk about some things. Meet me at Starbucks on Tuesday,11am." he paused, "be there."
"Okay,I don't even know who the hell you are and-" I stopped short. He's like....a ghost dude. There one second, vanished the next. And a good-looking one too. *epic facepalm in my head* seriously, get a grip or Rain will slap you. Why am I talking to myself......what the...drive!
*after driving to Kait's house*
I set up the mannequin in the garage, locked Popcorn in my room with water, and texted Rain.
Me: hey I set up the mannequin, wanna help?
I waited for a reply and a few minutes later my phone buzzed.
Rain: sure bee there in to
A few seconds after I got another text.
Rain: Damn auto. be* two*
Gotta love auto correct. I went to my dad's office to borrow a Sharpie and came back to the garage and wrote "Jack" on it. I grabbed some weights (since this is basically the work out room) and started lifting until I heard a car pull in and my phone buzzed-
Rain: We're here
What the..? We? Who-. Another buzz.
Ethan: Sorry,we were hanging out so I drove her. Okay if I tag along on this activity? ;)
I chuckled at the text and set down my phone to go open the door. Rain had her hand clasped to Ethan's arm like melted, then hardened iron. Only when I locked the door did she let go and go to the garage.
"You never answered my text" Ethan pouted with his hands in his pockets.
"I thought I was just a tad too late" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Just a tad?" he smirked.
"Shut up,weirdo." I ruffled his hair, getting a result of "Hey! Do you even know what I had to do to get it like this?! It took two freakin minutes, like ohmigosh!" he flipped his hand on his wrist, and tried to make a girly voice in mock. "Oh.my gosh. It's sooo pretty though!" I mocked back.
"It's a-bout time you two got here!" Rain acted like a fussy teenage girl but with a smile and twinkling eyes. We all had fun doing this sort of thing. "Okay, chop chop where are the hand protectors?" she looked at me.
"You mean gloves.." I replied then laughed a little, covering my mouth, then laughing harder because Rain had such a straight face on,on purpose. Rain and Ethan burst out laughing, and Rain suddenly made a straight face again. That had us do the same, only for a split second until laughter filled the room again and Rain ended up on the floor,Ethan on a weight left bench, and me with my back against the wall on the floor. We were all gripping our sides and trying to breathe properly.
When I regained my breath I went over to a shelf and grabbed three pairs of gloves that were not full on,but enough that covered our knuckles. I had two other mannequins,so if Ethan maybe wanted to punch it he could.
Rain and I tested the gloves by making fists, and jabbing the air. Ethan laid down on the bench and started lifting with the occasional every 20 minutes or so ask one of us to put another weight on each side.
I knocked a big dent in the chest/rib cage area in my mannequin. "Whoops." I muttered. "Heard that." Rain said and punched her mannequin once more before stopping to talk to me and get some water. I gave the innocent smile look and Rain just rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue at me.
I went back to my mannequin to focus. I slightly narrowed my eyes, got in position, readied my arm and fist, and punched it in the face as hard as I could. I then heard a gasp.
"Kait!!" Rain looked at me in horror, then pointed at the mannequin. I looked at it and gasped too. Its head had been dented, and was hanging on by a thread to the neck.
"Well Jack sure as hell shouldn't mess with you now." Rain stated.
"Yep." Ethan agreed.
Maybe I should go to the boxing gym. I wondered. No,Rain would want to come, and I couldn't let her go there with big, burly guys trying to hit her blind side. Although I could protect her. I'll think about it.
(I need time to think about how I should do the story now with the random dude)
