“No…”

Pillows were thrown on the floor, and the blanket was pulled out violently. If that wasn’t enough, the mattress itself was pulled out of the wooden frame, thrown onto the floor with the pillows. Angry footsteps made their way towards the back room where the luggage was located, and the bags ended up all over the room.

“Where is it, where is it?”

Objects were flying across the room, one by one. A shirt, a pair of leggings, the occasional undergarment, and the majority of things inside the bag ended up on the carpet floor. Once the entire bag was empty, frustrated screams made their way into the scene.

Where is it?!”

Nervous hands began to run through massive amounts of hair, and shaky breaths—almost shudders—made their way into the room. The nervous hands were constantly running through the large amounts of hair, and the shaky breaths came at a faster pace.

Jade slowly crept into the room, her hair messy and one sock falling off, and her eyes adjusted to the brightness. She looked at the mess in front of her—clothes and accessories scattered everywhere, and a hyperventilating purple-haired girl in front of her.

“Jesy?” Jade asked. “Jesy, what’s wrong?”

Jesy shook her head, not able to speak. At this moment, Jade was completely awake and was crouching down besides the Romford girl.

“What’s wrong, Jess?”

Jesy took a deep breath, and she looked at Jade. Her eyes were no longer the florescent green, but they were gray and glossy. “The doll, my doll… I can’t find it.”

Jade’s eyebrows furrowed. Is Jesy really serious about this? It’s a doll—it’s old, it’s incredibly replaceable, and it has no sentiment. Why did Jesy care about the doll so much?

“Jesy,” Jade yawned, “it’s just a doll.”

“It’s not just a doll!” Jesy wailed. “It’s really important to me, and if I lost it…” Jesy let out an exasperated sigh, and she ran her hands through her hair again. “I wouldn’t know what I’d do…” A tear ran down Jesy’s face, and Jade had just started to become concerned. Jesy almost laughed at the thought—Jade was wondering why she cared so much for the doll, and Jade would never have the slightest clue.

Jade wrapped her arms around Jesy’s waist, pulling her close out of instinct. Jesy rested on Jade’s lap, but it didn’t matter to either of them that Jesy was taller. Jade rested her chin on Jesy’s shoulder, which was quite difficult because of the height difference, but she managed. Jade moved her fingers so that they were creating random patterns on Jesy’s thigh, and Jesy was automatically soothed.

“It’s okay, baby,” Jade said in a hushed voice. “We’ll find it, I promise. The best thing you could do right now is to retrace your steps. Now tell me, where did you last see it?”

Jesy almost didn’t answer. Her head was rested perfectly on Jade’s head, and she didn’t want to move. Her body merged with Jade, it felt so perfect and so right. It sent tingles through her body. It made Jesy smile, because it was impossible for her to describe how much she really loved Jade.

“I had it under my pillow,” Jesy finally replied.

“Let’s go check your bunk, then.”

Jesy hesitantly got off of Jade’s lap, not wanting to lose the warmth. Jade followed her suit, and they walked together to the bunks. Jesy opened the door, only to reveal the sight of blankets, pillows, and a mattress spewed across the floor.

“Okay,” Jade breathed, “it’s not in your bunk.”

Jesy only mustered a nod.

“Where else could we check?” Jade asked.

Jesy sniffled. “The living room?” Jade almost cooed at this; Jesy sounded like she was trying to convince herself, and to Jade, she sounded absolutely adorable.

Jade grabbed Jesy’s hand and she led Jesy to the living room. Jade flipped on the light switch, and the light gave away the view to absolutely nothing. Jesy choked on a sob, and Jade started rubbing her back immediately.

“Maybe…maybe we could check under the cushions—”

“That’s enough checking for you,” Jade said with a slight giggle.

Jesy was about to protest, but Jade pressed a kiss unto Jesy’s temple. “Everything will be okay,” Jade whispered. “We’ll look again in the morning, yeah?”

Jesy was stunned, but conscious enough to shake her head. “We have to! We have to look for it! I need it! I need that doll!” Jesy was about to cry again, but Jade hugged her. Jade held onto her for dear life, and she wouldn’t let go.

“Sh, it’s okay. Everything is all right. Everything is okay.”

“I need to find it…” Jesy sobbed.

“And you will, but right now, we need to go to sleep.”

“I need it!”

“Let’s sleep first.”

“No!” Jesy protested. “I need to find it!”

Jade was still holding onto her, and Jesy didn’t mind. It took a few minutes for Jesy to stop crying, but Jade got her to. Jesy turned around in Jade’s arms, letting herself collapse onto the dirty-blonde girl.

“Everything is okay, Jesy,” Jade repeated.

Jesy wasn’t aware of her surroundings. Everything was absolutely empty to her. Everything was white, nothing else existed. Of course, there was only one thing in this lonely universe with her, and that was Jade Thirlwall.

Jade looked into Jesy’s eyes, and Jesy couldn’t help but stare back into them.

“Is everything all right, Jade?” Jesy asked.

Jade nodded hesitantly. “Yeah, everything is perfectly fine,” Jade answered. “It’s just that…”

Jesy stopped. “Just what?”

Jade looked into Jesy’s eyes again, and she noticed that the green color was slowly coming back. Jade smiled, and Jesy felt a blush creeping onto her cheeks. Jade looked down at Jesy’s hands, and she let their fingers intertwine.

“Jade,” Jesy strained out. “Just what?”

Jade looked into Jesy’s eyes again. Jade could tell that Jesy’s green eyes were swirling with emotions, but Jade couldn’t exactly figure them out. She wanted to know what Jesy was thinking, but she thought it was best that she tell Jesy what she was thinking at the moment.

“I really want to kiss you right now.”
