~Hazel's POV~
My alarm blares.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I groan as I wake up, turning it off.
Today is another day. Better make the most of it.
I roll my eyes as I get out of bed, groggily walking to the bathroom.
I stand in front of the mirror, taking in the morning look.
My shirt is wet on one of the shoulders from where I happened to drool. My hair is a big poofy nest, going every which way and that.
I yawn, then I carelessly pull my shoulder length, hazel hair up into a ponytail.
I turn on the faucet, splashing some water on my face. I blink my puffy eyes as I wipe the water off with a towel.
Keeping my hair up, I apply some faint makeup; concealer and mascara.
I take my hair out of the somewhat ponytail, painfully brushing out the nest. Then I pull it back into a nicer looking pony.
I walk back into my room, walking over to the dresser and pulling out an outfit. I put on an oversized grey sweater, black jeans, and some white Adidas.
I take one last look at myself in the full length mirror that's in my room.
"Guess I'm good to go." I put up two thumbs, smiling at myself.
"I'm such a dork..." I roll my eyes at myself.
I walk over to where my backpack had been thrown on the floor from the previous day.
It's light purple, designs and drawings that my friend and I have done are all over it.
I pick it up, slinging it over my shoulder.
Walking into the kitchen of the one story house, I grab an apple for the quick five minute walk to school.
"Bye, Mom!" I walk over to the front door, opening it.
"Bye, Hun! Have a good day at school!" She calls to me from her spot on the couch in the living room.
I nod as I step outside into the fresh air, closing the door behind me and taking a bite of the red apple.
I take a couple steps forward on the little walk that connects to our driveway.
I pause, looking around the neighborhood as I continue to eat the apple.
The sun is somewhat shining.
There's a few clouds.
No wind.
Today is going to change that's for sure.
I throw the apple up, catching it again before heading off to school. I hum a tune on the way there.
I walk onto the school campus after a good five minutes. The red and white brick building towers over me.
Serica High School.
One of the biggest in the state of Texas.
Even though there's about one thousand kids that go here, I only really have one friend.
Skylar.
We've been best friends since the seventh grade.
Currently we are in the eleventh grade.
She is like a sister to me, mainly because I'm an only child. Skylar has a younger brother, Logan. He's a fourth grader, so he's like family to me too.
