~Hazel's POV~
Math went by in a blur like usual.
I sat with my head down most of class and Skylar was worried for me.
She had rubbed my back the whole time.
Taehyung had really hit a nerve earlier and I hated him for it.
We walked to our next class and parted ways, nodding to each other before disappearing off into our classrooms.
I took my seat and put my head down again before I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder.
I turned my head to the side to see Jungkook.
"Oh, hey." I smiled tiredly at him as I lifted my head up.
"Hey, how are you doing?" He smiled, but I could see in his eyes he was scared and worried.
I leaned back in my chair and shrugged. "Alright."
"Look... I'm sorry with what happened with Taehyung. He sometimes says things at the wrong time and he doesn't know when to stop..." He glanced down.
I nodded. "Why does he do that?"
He glanced over at where Taehyung was sitting across the room. "Act sweet one second then act like a total jerk the next?"
I nodded again and he sighed.
"He said it was to follow in his father's footsteps or to be like him or something like that."
This got my attention. "What do you mean?"
"Well, once a couple years ago, we were in Canada for a performance, kind of like the one we're going to do here. There was a girl that he had met, Lea. They kind of became a thing and were always flirting around and stuff. I thought she was over one night so I opened the door to his room to say hello, when I saw that it wasn't Lea. It was some other girl, and he was kissing her. Taehyung smirked while the other girl ran out of there. I was shocked and very surprised. When I asked him why he cheated on Lea, he said that it's what his dad did. His dad cheated on his mom and would always act rude or sweet to her to get what he wanted. He thought that that's what you were supposed to do. When I told him that that wasn't right, he wouldn't listen. It happened again a year later in Puerto Rico with a girl named Amanda. Hoseok found out that time and tried to tell him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. I'm really sorry for you to be the target, Hazel, but if he tries to do anything, just let us know and we'll beat him up, okay?" He rest a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
I smiled and nodded. "Thanks, Kookie Boy."
"If it's okay for me to ask, why were you upset earlier? Before Taehyung set you off." He glanced down.
"Oh..." I hung my head. "Well, um, I found out this morning that my mom has Chordoma." I tried to keep the tears in.
He frowned. "Oh, I'm so sorry. Is she going to get treatment?"
I shook my head. "No, she's strong, but she's always said that she's wanted to die naturally and when her time came. I don't think she's going to try and get treatment for the cancer." I laughed softly.
He nodded and gently squeezed my shoulder. "I'm here for you, okay? Whenever you need to talk, my ears are open."
"Thank you, Jungkook." I gave him a hug. "So, about our hang out later." I pulled away and playfully punched his arm with a smile on my face.
He chuckled. "What do you mean?"
I shrugged. "I need help choosing a song to do."
He nodded and smiled. "I think I have one."
I smiled back. "Great! Thanks."
"You're welcome."
The bell rang for class to start and we turned our attention to the front.
Can't wait to see what the rest of the day will bring.
