>Jimin's POV<
*flashback to the year before*
Lately I've been waking up stiff and not as energetic. I decided to go to the doctor's after dance practice one day.
I went to see Dr. Jeong. A very well known doctor in Korea and one of the best.
I knew that whatever diagnosis he'd give me wouldn't be wrong.
He had just done some tests on me and I sat on the chair, fiddling with my fingers as I waited for him to come back with the results.
He opened the door, looking down at some papers he had in his hand.
He didn't make eye contact with me.
"Doctor? What is it?"
He sighed.
Not a good sign.
"You have a rare condition." He said. "It's called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva."
I gave him a very confused look.
He nodded and set the papers down.
"Basically your body's tissue is turning into bone, forming a second skeleton outside of your normal one. So, as you described being stiff, it'll be hard for you to be able to do things. It's not good for your body, meaning it'll be hard to breathe and you won't get all the nutrients you need, because it will be hard to eat." He took a breath. "Your dancing career can make this quicken." He said.
"Wow..." I didn't know what to say. "Uh, thanks doctor."
He gave a slight nod, handing me the papers he had brought in.
I looked at it and it showed where the bones in my body were stiffening.
My back was highlighted in yellow.
Some other parts of my body were highlighted, but my whole back was colored.
I looked down, getting off of the bed.
"Come back if you have any questions. The front desk will have some medicine to ease the pain." Dr. Jeong said.
I nodded and went to leave the room, but then I stopped and faced him. "H-how long do I have..?"
He thought for a moment. "At this rate, about a year."
I held back the tears. "Thanks again." I smiled sadly, then left.
As I went to the front desk to pay and get the medicine, I thought about telling the members.
I debated in my mind until I got home.
And as soon as I got there, I knew that I wouldn't tell them.
They were all laughing together and as soon as they saw me, they grabbed me in a group hug.
I silently let the tears fall.
They didn't deserve to know about this.
I wanted them to live with me like how we've always been. I didn't want anything to change. I didn't want them to treat me any different.
*flashback end*
I walked into the hospital room.
Skylar said I could come.
I would only tell Hazel I was dying, for reasons only I, and soon she, would know. Skylar, my love, didn't deserve to know about this either.
*flashback*
"Jimin!" Skylar squealed. "Where are we going?"
I had taken a hold of her hand and was jogging a little to Dairy Queen.
I turned to her with a smirk. "Well, since Jungkook and Hazel are hanging out, I think it's only fair for us to hang out." I grinned at her before turning back around and heading towards our destination.
Skylar giggled. "You silly goose."
I smiled, stopping in front of Dairy Queen.
"We're here!" I stood proudly.
She looked at the restaurant then at me.
"Okay." She shrugged, smiling while walking inside.
I laughed as I followed after her.
We each ordered a small Oreo Blizzard, I paid, then we sat down with our treat.
For a while, I just held my Blizzard, looking at it.
She lightly placed a hand on mine. Her hands were warm. I looked up at her with a little blush to match my hair.
"You okay?" She asked.
I nodded, taking in a deep breath and letting it out.
I looked away from her. "Um, I have a question..." I slowly looked at her to see her eagerly waiting.
"Um..." I glanced away again. "I know that we don't really know each other, but um, would you want to be my girlfriend?" I glanced at her then back down at my ice cream.
It felt like an hour had gone by before she finally did anything.
She took her hand off of mine and I looked up just as she placed a kiss on my cheek.
My face flushed a deep red and she smiled.
"Yes, but just so you know, I'm trying super hard not to freak out right now." A huge grin was on her face and it quickly made its way onto mine.
I knew then that I wouldn't tell her.
*flashback end*
Hazel was crying.
I knew this was probably a bad time to tell her, but I needed to. For the sake of the members and everyone else.
I walked up behind her and gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
She immediately turned around and gave me a hug.
Skylar smiled at me from across the room.
I gently rubbed Hazel's back. "I never knew your mom, but I'll miss her." I let out a soft chuckle, then I whispered. "It'll soon be my turn to go."
She pulled away from me and looked into my face. "What?"
I smiled, nodding the slightest bit before walking stiff legged over to Skylar and taking her hand.
Small tears were going down Skylar's face and I gently wiped them away as she rested her head against my shoulder.
We both looked to Hazel's mom.
I then glanced at Hazel to see her looking at me, tears going down her own face.
I smiled softly, looking back towards her mom.
