Jordan Maston POV

I continuously tried to move and get out of the zip ties, however, this only caused the already extremely tight restraints to dig further into my wrists and ankles. I was breathing heavily and wincing as I arched my back trying to relive some of the tension in my wrists due to my body being atop Alex's shoulder blade. I couldn't hear Miles or the others call out for me any more. The sun is had almost set. Alex seemed to be struggling with my weight along with what seemed to be a gunshot wound to his left thigh. "mmrhmm mmrhmm strrrppp" the word 'stop' unfortunately does not sound like that... I squirmed around again. Alex seemed to tense at my sudden movement. He gripped my legs tighter as he slowed his pace. He abruptly stopped and looked around. We were in the middle of the woods. The safe house was on the outskirts of the town. I'm pretty sure he had been running for hours. We've been alone for a similar amount of time. I turned my head to see Alex looked off in the darkening landscape. I wasn't sure how far away we were from the previous, nor the next town. The only thing I was happy about, was that there was no cell phone reception in the middle of the woods so he was on his own, which meant that Miles and the others had a better chance of finding me. Alex turned his body to the right and I heard him wince. He started hobbling to what looked like an embankment. As we got closer I saw that there was a small alcove that led into a cave. We entered the dimly lit cave and I felt his hands rest on my waist and he slid me off his shoulder and shoved me to the ground lightly. I say lightly but it still hurt because my ankles were tied together. "ooompph" was my reply as I made contact with the cave's cold, slightly damp dirt. I tried to wriggled upright and tried to slide myself further away from him. He scared me. I never did anything to him. And he was working for Victor. However all of this was short lived, he walked over to me and grabbed my ankles and rolled me onto my stomach. "mrrhmm" I grunted as he wrapped something around my knees pulling it tightly causing me to groan in pain."Mmrhmm." I groaned again as I struggled against the new restraint. He quickly left the mouth of the cave, I struggled to try and sit up, even trying to stretch my arms to my ankles to somehow loosen the painful ties. Alex came back only a few minutes later with an arm full of wood. He laid the logs in a small stack in the middle of the area and rummaged though his backpack and pulled out a box of matches and lit the dry wood. The fire roared to life and a warm orange glow illuminated the barren cave. "mmrhmm....." I sound lowly as I somehow ungraciously rolled onto my back and used all my forced to push myself up. I bit down harder on the rag in my mouth. "mrrhmmph" I continued to squirm. But was shot with pain, on my wrists and ankles and now just above my knees from the belt Alex had tightened around them. I tried digging my heels into the soft dirt. The cold dirt made its way around my hot and sore ankles and I breathed a relieved and content sigh. The cold and damp soil haphazardly calmed and cooled my burning ankles. I then did the same with my wrists, I took a shaky breath as I closed my eyes as the soil fell around my restrained wrists. I opened my eyes to see Alex staring at me. He was sitting on the ground next to the fire. He looked me up and down before abruptly standing up. He shuffled his way over towards me. I tried to move away from him. I squeezed my eyes shut and turned my head to the side. I bit down hard on the gag, causing lose fibres to make their way further into my mouth. I suddenly felt warmth on either side of my face as I felt his hands untying the fabric from behind my head. I felt it loosen. I opened my eyes and furrowed my brows at him as he pulled it out of my mouth. I was going to talk, yell and scream, but instead I opened and closed my mouth, causing the stiffness in my jaw to quickly disapate. He shuffled his way back over to his spot and stuck out his injured leg before lowering himself down to the ground. He winced again. I saw the wound. Dark blood was oozing out of the infected looking wound.
