FOURTEEN, "DARK VISIONS."
"I think I'm gonna head out," I said moving Milo's arm off of my shoulder. "Is it because of that stupid prank earlier?" He asked. I let out a small laugh.
"No, I'm just getting tired."
"Alright, do you need a ride home?" I shook my head no. "Jackson is picking me up."
"I'll walk you out," We maneuvered over all of the blankets and pillow on the ground and I made sure to send Aden and Jace a death glare as I left, Milo leaned up against the door frame and looked at me.
I started to feel self-conscious. "What?" He smiled.
"Oh, nothing."I playfully hit his arm. "Seriously, tell me what's up?" He leaned down again and whispered in my ear. "Just thinking about how much I wanna kiss you that's all."
"Oh really?" I said playing along, "Mhm." He responded.
I stood up on my tippy toes and tried to kiss him, that's when Jackson decided to pull up and honk. I rolled my eyes. "It's like the universe doesn't want us to kiss." We both chuckled. I kissed him on the cheek and jogged over to Jackson's car.
I saw Aden come outside and try and get my attention, but I told Jackson I wasn't in the mood to talk to him.
When we got to my place, I threw my bag on the couch, flipped my shoes off and started to walk to the kitchen. "So how about hot Pockets for a snack-"
Suddenly my vision got blurry and Then I couldn't see anything at all pure darkness, I started to reach out to grab onto anything to stabilize myself, but I couldn't find anything.
I screamed and screamed, but I couldn't hear myself.
"Kayla." It sounded like I was listening to Jack underwater, then I passed out.
When I opened my eyes, I had to blink away the fogginess, I looked around I'm in a black room? Is this even real? My footsteps echoed loudly as I walked through nothingness. "Hello?" I asked the echo of my voice lasted for a while.
"Welcome, Hazel, or should I say Kayla?"
"My names Kayla," I shouted defensively. The deep voice just chuckled.
"Who are you? Where the hell am I?" I asked.
"You'll know soon enough, and my own little word...Isn't great?"
"It's cold and dark," I said taking a step back, the deep voice seemed to get closer. "Why am I here?" Loud fast footsteps came from all directions, like whatever it is circled me. "I need your help." I scoffed.
"What a way to ask." Sarcasm dripped from my words.
"Oh, dear Hazel, I'm not asking, I'm telling you."
Curiosity got the best of me, "What do you want?" Suddenly a silhouette of a man came out of the shadows, all I can see is half of his face because of the shadows and what seems to be an expensive suit. "I need to open the portal, and you're the only one powerful enough to do so."
"What portal?" He was silent, "What portal?" I yelled.
"The one to the other side."
"What do you mean the other side?" I wanted to pull my hair out at his vagueness.
"The one to the other side of the realm, where all the gods reside, even the moon goddess. I hear your mom knows her well." He took a step closer and this time I couldn't move, the shadow never left his face no matter how close he got, suddenly my whole body filled with heat in this freezing room.
I exhaled a steamy breath due to the coldness.
He chuckled, "Cold?" He asked. I felt like I couldn't speak only nod.
"I can help with that." He pulled me close to him, I couldn't help, but melt into the warmness of his body, he held the back of my neck and tilted my head toward his face. Then he leaned down and kissed me, Before I could kiss him back, I opened my eyes and I'm in my bedroom.
I took a huge breath and tried to calm myself down, but my breathing just intensified.
"Kayla!" Jackson yelled as he ran into my room.
"You're awake. Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
I was too frozen to respond. So, I nodded.
"What happened?" I asked. "You were walking to the kitchen and passed out, you just kept yelling, I brought you to your bed and you've been mumbling for the past two days."
"Two days?!" I asked in shock. "No, I'm just fucking with you it's only been like two hours." I let out a heavy breath and hit Jackson on the back of the head. "You can't do that numb skull." He laughed. "Sorry, I was just joking."
"He is downstairs, I haven't told him you are awake yet I figured you'd wann-"
"Who?" I asked in a panic, was it the man I talked to?
"Aden..." Jackson drawled out in confusion. "Do you want to go to the pack doctor?"
"No, I'm fine just a weird vision, I get them every once in a while."
"I've never seen you get a vision like that." I awkwardly laughed and took my comforter off. "That's because it usually happens when I'm asleep." Jackson didn't look convinced. "Dude, chill I swear I'm fine, Sorry for scaring you."
He seemed to relax. "Alright, well I'll be downstairs with the trainwreck you might want to come talk to him soon, he has been worried for hours," I nodded okay, and he left my room.
I walked into my bathroom to wash my face with cold water when I looked into the mirror, I pulled my hair into a ponytail I touched the back of my ear and it was so hot I dropped my hair and looked at the tip of my finger. "What the?" I pulled my hair back up and looked in the mirror.
A black swirly tattoo is right behind my ear, I've heard of some werewolves being born with birthmarks like this, but I don't have any birthmarks.
"What the fuck..." I mumbled to myself.
