The coffee wasn't working, my brain is extremely hyperactive while my body is begging me to go back to bed. It might have something to do with the four hours of sleep I got last night.

I showered to try and wake myself up, that didn't work either now I just have curly wet hair, at least I smell good.

I took another bite of my eggs, I heard heavy footsteps on the stairs, when I looked over I expected Liam instead I saw Aden, I almost forgot he slept over here last night. "Sup sleepy head?" He made his way to the fridge and grabbed some orange juice.

"Please make yourself at home." I teased as he poured himself some juice.

"Thanks, I will." He replied.

I leaned my head on the counter, my eyes felt heavy and my body was ready to sleep. But, I couldn't stop thinking about poor Paige, she wanted to talk about what happened today.

"What are you thinking about?" Aden asked as he took a seat next to me. I let out a long sigh before responding.

"Paige wants to talk about what happened last night. I don't know what to say or do. What if I say the wrong thing and she gets even more upset than she already is?"

"I think the best thing to do is just listen. She's probably scared and needs someone to talk to."

"You're right." I slipped out of the bar stool and made my way toward the front door. "There's bacon in the pan if you are hungry." I hollered as I made my way upstairs.

I'm pretty sure I heard him make some sort of noise that resembled the golden retriever from the bacon strips commercial.

Aden and I made our way over to the guest house, I was just about to knock before Aden reached in front of me and opened the door.

I peered over at the couch and Dawson was still out cold. "I'm going to go rinse off." I nodded in acknowledgment at Aden before making my way to his room. "Paige? You up?" I heard her mumble; "Mhm." And made my way inside the room.

"You wanna talk?"

"Not really... I just wanna go home and talk to my parents. Take a real shower."

"Let me grab my car keys and we will go. Have you had breakfast?"

"I'm not hungry."

"Kayla?" Jace asked from the hallway I turned around, he looked like he just woke up.

"One second." Paige got off the bed and started headed downstairs. "You should try and have a little something to eat okay? There should be food in the fridge." She nodded before walking down the stairs.

I turned around to face Jace. "What's up?" He crossed his arms. "Wanna explain what the fuck happened last night?"

"Paige got attacked." He narrowed his eyebrows. "Who was it?"

"Some asshole named Nick, I still need to convince Paige to file a police report and talk to my parents about getting him expelled." I let out a sigh.

"Do you need help?"

"Help with what?" Aden made his way down the hallway, his hair was wet from his shower the water beads made there way down his face and onto his shirtless torso, but I needed to find somewhere else to look. "Just helping Paige out," I responded.

"I'll come with let me throw on a shirt." You don't need a shirt. "I can come too," Jace said.

"Uhh, I think this is something just Paige and I need to do. She's really shaken up right now. But, I'm hanging out with Jackson tonight if you guys wanna tag along." They both nodded and Aden sent me a smile before I headed down the stairs.

Paige was taking a small bite out of some toast. "I've decided I do want to...To go to the police."

"I think that's a good idea." I followed Paige's gaze over to the couch where Dawson was still sprawled out asleep. "He's such a great guy you know? And he really saved me last night. I mean he heard me calling for help over all the people and the music last night."

"That's pretty amazing," I said. "Why didn't I just pick him? Why'd I have to go for the bad boy asshole and get myself in this situation?"

"This isn't your fault Paige. None of this is. It's Nicks for being an entitled Dickwad."

"Yeah, it doesn't feel like it."

Paige decided it would be best to let her parents know what happened before we went to the cops, and I couldn't have agreed more.

I took her home her mom was worried sick and her dad wasn't home yet.

I tried to stay and offer to help in any way I could or to go to the police station with them but they both insisted that I go home.

They thanked me a million times, I just wish there was more I could have done.

"I promise he won't be at school whenever you decided to come back and I'll make sure I get any assignments you've missed."

"How can you be sure?" I sent her a sad smile.

"I know the Principal." It wasn't a lie but it wasn't who was gonna get the dickwad suspended, my dad is. "Why have you helped me so much? You don't even know me, I'm grateful don't get me wrong it's just...Why?"

"We have to help each other out in this scary world." She sent me a genuine smile.

I made my way down her driveway and hopped into my car. After the little sleep, I got last night all I wanted to do was sleep but then I remembered there's a certain blue-haired boy asleep on the couch and he'll probably do something dumb when he wakes up.

When I got back home and over to Jace's and Adens, I noticed Aden had a worried look on his face and Jace looked like he got socked in the eye.

"Before you get mad...He wouldn't calm down."

Jace looked over at me.

"Why the fuck would she be mad? I'm the one that got punched in the face by this- this- Smurf!"

"Jace calm the hell down. What happened?"

"He woke up and was hell-bent on killing Nick." I looked over at Dawson, he stirred a bit.

"When did you knock him out?"

"Like twenty minutes ago..." Aden replied.
