"I'm sorry for interrupting."

Han walks up next to us. I lean back and wipe my eyes before turning to him.

"You might need these." He hands me and Rey our own blasters. I take my willingly before checking it out. It was pretty decent.

"I think I can handle myself." Rey says sassily.

"I know you do. That's why I'm giving it to you. Take it."

She takes it from him quickly while looking it over.

"You know how to use one of those?" He asks her.

"Yeah, you pull the trigger." She says while holding it up. I chuckle. Han looks to me before rolling his eyes in amusement and looking back to Rey.

"Little bit more to it than that. You got a lot to learn. You got a name?"

"Rey."

"Rey... what about you?" Han asks while looking to me.

"Alex." I mutter.

"Rey, Alex..." he says while taking a moment. "I been thinking about bringing on some more crew. A second mate, maybe. Some people to help out. Some who can keep up with Chewie and me... appreciates the Falcon."

I smile to him then Rey as her head whips to me.

"Are you offering me a job?"

"Wouldn't be nice to you. Doesn't pay much."

"You're offering me a job." She says excitedly.

"I'm thinking about it." He mutters. Then he looks between the two of us. "Well?"

I look to Rey excitedly, but her face is downcast.

"If you were, I'd be flattered. But I have to get home."

"Rey--"

"Where? Jakku?"

She looks between me and Han.

"I've already been gone for too long."

"If I sign up..." I lean towards Rey. "Will you?"

She smiles pitifully to me before shaking her head slowly. I nod in response before stepping back. Then I turn to Han.

"If she goes, then I go. But..." I look back to Rey. "If she doesn't, then I don't."

"Alex, just take the job. It'll do you some good."

"We're family now, Rey. He offered it to both of us, so either both of us go or none of us."

She nods slowly.

"That's too bad. Chewie kind of likes you two." He says while smirking and walking past us. I look to Rey as we share a laugh. We walk together towards the castle, I show her how to use a blaster while Finn walks close behind.

"Solo, why are we here again?"

"To get your droid on a clean ship."

"Clean?" Rey asks. Han looks over his shoulder before continuing.

"You think it was luck that Chewie and I found the Falcon? If we can find it on our scanners... the First Order's not far behind. Wanna get BB-8 to the Resistance? Maz Kanata's our best bet."
