"Kylo!"

I run after him into the nearby forest. Although, I was caught several times by stormtroopers, I managed to find him. Kylo stands in an opening deflecting several blasts from a blaster.

"The girl I've heard so much about."

His feet thump against the leaves as I step slowly to see around the large rock I've hid behind.

"The droid. Where is it?" He points his lightsaber just inches from Rey's cheek. She can't move. But she remains strong. After a few seconds, Ren turns and faces her fully while extending a hand towards her. Reading her thoughts.

"The map... you've seen it."

I begin to step out from behind the rock, when a stormtrooper and another walks quickly towards their leader.

"Sir, Resistance fighters. We need more troops. "

"Pull the division out. Forget the droid. We have what we need." And with that, he uses the Force to knock Rey unconscious. He picks her up with ease and walks off with the troopers.

"No..." I mutter. I stand to my feet and ignite my lightsaber. Ren stops dead in his tracks and turns slowly to look at me out of the corner of his mask.

"You..." he mumbles.

I shift my hands on the lightsaber and hold it next to my face. My heart begins to beat wildly as I ready myself.

"What are you doing, Alex?"

"You're not taking her." I snarl. "The Dark Side can't win--"

"It already has... in you."

I snap. I swing the saber back and forth, almost hitting him a few times. He Force-throws Rey so she is floating out of the way. Then he draws his saber. The red light crackles as it whirrs in his hand. I swing at him, just barely hitting his side. The sizzle of the cloth catches him off guard.

"Have you been practicing, Al?"

"Hell no." I say as I swing again. He deflects each one as I push him backwards. Rey lands slowly onto the ground. Suddenly, Ren begins to swing back, and I am the one trying to protect myself. I stop his saber just inches from my face, twice. Then he throws his hand out and pushes me back. My back smacks against the large rock I hid behind. The pain erupts in my side spreading like a fire down my spine.

"I can tell..." he mutters as his lightsaber is yet again inches from my face. The heat burns my skin, I tilt my head cautiously while gripping my side.

"Alex. You think you can defeat the darkness inside of you by saving someone. You forget that to save, you have to kill." The tip of his lightsaber brushes my skin, causing my cheek to burn. I scream out in pain. As I turn my head to tend to my wound, Ren disappears with my friend. I stumble to my feet and grab my lightsaber. Jogging quickly out of the forest and into the rubble that remains from the castle. I watch as Rey floats onto Ren's ship. I then fall to my knees and feel tears fall down my cheeks, burning the already excruciating cut.

"Alex!" I hear Finn run to me. His arm wraps around me as he tries to help me up. I groan in pain. He turns to look at Han, who walks by with Chewie. The General's ship lands just behind us.

"He took her. Did you see that? He took her... she's gone--" Finn calls.

"Yeah, yeah I know." Han dismisses it as he walks over to the large Resistance ship. I grab Finn's shoulder and push myself up. With my arm wrapped over his shoulder, he walks me to the ship next to Han. C-3PO inertes from the ship in front of General Organa.
