Lavender
He got in a fight?!
It's only his second day!
I had been wondering why a crowd had gathered outside the classroom and my questions were answered when he walked in sporting a bruise.
When lunch came I ate by myself and the rest of the day was like usual. Before he came.
At the end of the day he showed up at my locker.
He leaned against the locker next to mine and I noticed that his face had been patched up.
He handed me a sheet of paper and ran off again.
The dean wasn't too far behind him, obviously yelling at him to stop.
I looked down at the paper and some numbers were scribbled along with the words 'Text me'
I rolled my eyes and folded the paper four times. I stuck it in my back pocket and grabbed my bookbag.

Student punched other student in face and escaped the detention room through the window.
I crumbled up the detention slip and looked at the principal. "Can you repeat the question?"
"Why did put your hands on Charles Bradley?" She asked calmly, but I could see that I was beginning to get on her nerves.
"Because he asked me to." I responded.
"In what way?" She asked.
"He specifically asked me if I wanted to fight and who am I to say no?" I asked.
"You would be the honorary student." She sighed. "You're new here and I expected more of you."
"I expected more than two weeks of detention." I said.
She pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a deep breath. "Get out. I want that, signed, on my desk tomorrow morning."
I got and walked out of the office.
Charles was sitting outside with an ice pack over his eye.
Pathetic.
He glared at me as I passed but I refused to make a scene.
I took out my phone and put in my headphones.
When I got outside the buses had already left. So I started to walk.
When I walked in my mom met me at the door, slapping me across the face.
Ouch.
"What did I tell you? This is why you had to transfer in the first place and you turn around and do the same thing in a different place?" She yelled.
"Hi Mom." I said, walking past her. "Don't worry I'll show myself the way."
I walked upstairs and shut myself in my room.
I threw my bag on my bed and flopped down in my desk chair.
I sighed. "Get out of my closet, Briana."
She giggled. "How did you know I was there?"
"Your breathing was not as quiet as you thought it was." I said.
"Make yourself useful and help me." She said, trying to jump on my bed. "You know I can't reach."
I rolled my eyes and picked her up, rolling her onto my bed.
"You got in another fight?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Did you win?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Did your girlfriend see it?" She asked.
"She's not my girlfriend." I said. "No."
"I would stop calling her that if you would tell me her name." She said.
"So you can go tell Mom, Dad and the rest of the world?" I asked. "No. For now you can call her Belle."
"Like the princess?" She asked.
"Whatever." I said.
"So you must be the beast." She said.
"You could say that." I said.
"Then I can be the fairy godmother." She clapped happily.
"There wasn't wasn't fairy godmother in that story." I said.
"Yes there is." She argued. "Because I say there is."
I rolled my eyes. "Did you bring me something?"
She slid off my bed, dragging my blanket onto the floor, and ran back into the closet.
She emerged seconds later with a plastic baggie in her hand. "This was all I could get."
In the bag there was an egg roll and a fortune cookie. "Thanks."
"I'm getting better at this." She said happily.
"Don't be good at stealing. That's me. You're supposed to be the angel." I said, taking out the egg roll. "Promise me you won't be bad."
"I promise." She said as I handed her the fortune cookie. "But you gotta promise me that you'll eat."
"I promise. Now go before they realize that you're in here with a delinquent." I said, sliding open my window.
"Are you gonna be back by bedtime?" She asked as I climbed onto the windowsill with the the egg roll in my mouth.
"Yeah. I'll try." I said. "Bye bighead."
"Bye Tiny brain." She said.
I jumped out the window, landing on the roof below, then I jumped onto the roof of the car and onto the ground.
When I looked over my shoulder she was closing my window.
I ran before my parents had time to look out the window, into the trees.
I ran for only a short while, taking a random path.
"Hey!" Someone shouted. "You're that Justin kid right?"
I turned and saw some girl running up to me. She's pretty.
"I'm Mary. It's short for Rosemary." She said.
She's bubbly.
I blocked out her voice as she pointed out where her house was and a bunch of other random stuff.
When she stopped talking and looked at me hopefully I asked her to repeat the question.
"Wanna hang out sometime?" She asked.
"No." I said.
She looked taken aback and her smile fell. "Ok."
She ran off into her house, probably going to tell her friends how mean I am.
Oh well.
