Will shouted again, yanking at his chains, which were already rubbing his wrists raw. He took in everything about the cell again.

No light.

No sound, save for the dripping of water somewhere.

No warmth. The cold pierced the layers of his clothes, making him shiver.

Ever since the red-haired, silver-eyed man who called himself General Blyden had interrogated him hours ago, a deep, numbing terror had started to rise within Will. There was something about that man. Something different.

Something off.

Will clamped his eyes shut, willing his heart to slow, his breathing to return to normal. Panicking will not help you, he reminded himself. Fear makes you stupid. Fear gets you killed.

He exhaled slowly, his fear fading. Better.
