Will stared at the goblet before him, at the demon general offering it to him.

"Drink it," Blyden ordered.

The healer didn't budge. "What is it." Not a question, but an order.

Blyden snarled. "You are in no position to question me, son of Apollo. Drink it."

After a tense moment, Will accepted the goblet, trying to keep his hands from shaking. The moment his fingers wrapped around the rim of the cup, he was overwhelmed with voices that pleaded for the pain to stop, stop, stop--

He flinched. "What is this?"

Blyden smiled, silver eyes gleaming in the dark. "Acheron."

Why bother even trying to escape? the water wailed. You don't deserve to be free of this place.

Will took a deep breath.

You will never see your loved ones again.

He pictured Cabin Seven, his family. He tipped back the goblet and drank.

Pain unlike anything he'd felt before roared through Will. He collapsed, writhing in his chains. The goblet shattered on floor. The voices screamed in his head, telling him that he would never escape this place, that he'd be trapped here forever. A cry of pure agony left Will's lips as he thrashed on the ground.

He could faintly hear Blyden laughing as the River of Pain coursed through him.
