Niall's POV
I woke up the next day and noticed my pillow was still damp from the tears I had spilled the night before. Why? Why was I stupid to let those words blurt out? I know I'd only known her for a few days but my feelings were rapidly increasing for her. I knew she was insecure, I knew she was scared. I should've just stopped myself there and then. Now I've lost the girl I hoped to be my princess. It's almost as if god knows I'm not compatible in love.
I rolled out of bed, deciding not to feel sorry for myself today. As my feet touched the floor my whole body froze. It was cold this morning, well in my room anyway. I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I waited for the water to heat up before stripping from my boxers and getting in under the warm running water. I pushed every thought about my broken, ex-girlfriend and focused on all the good things that can happen in my lifetime. I tried to think of good things but I got nothing...Diana kept popping into my head. I've never been like this because of a girl before.
Diana's POV
When I woke up I turned over and checked the time. It was still pretty early but I knew I wasn't going to get back to sleep now so I decided to go down to the beach while everyone was asleep. I went to my suitcase(carefully stepping over sleeping bodies on the floor) and picked out a hoodie, bikini and some sandals. I went into the bathroom, cleaned my teeth and got dressed. Once I'd pulled my hair up into a messy bun and put on my glasses I exited my room and headed down to the lobby. When I got into the lobby I froze. Why? Why did he have to be here at this exact moment?
I pulled my hood over my face and walked out of the hotel. Finally I was outside, so I decided to put down my hood. After my hood was down I continued to walk down to the beach. I then figured I didn't know my way there. I stopped a random boy in the street. "Excuse me, do you know where the beach is?" I asked him. I caught a proper glance of his face. To be truly honest he was really cute; he had bright blue eyes and brown hair. He was realllllly cute! "Hello?" The boy asked, waving his hand in front of my face. "Oh, yeah. Sorry? You were saying?" I asked him, I felt my cheeks heat up. "Yeahh, it depends on which beach you were looking for." He said. "Whichever beach is closest to here." I smiled. "Well if you keep walking straight on there is a beach down there. I'm heading there anyway to do some surfing. Do you want me to walk you there?" He asked. "Yeah sure, I mean if you don't mind?" I said, tucking a strand of loose hair behind my ear. "Not at all. I'm Dylan by the way." He smiled. "Diana." I returned the smile. "Well Diana, you're extremely pretty." Dylan said as we walked towards the beach.
After a five minute walk we stepped onto the sand. "So what brings you to Miami?" He asked. "Well I'm on holiday with my best friends." I shrugged. "You're from Ireland right?" He questioned. "Yup." I beamed. "I thought so. You have an accent like that boy my sister obsesses over. You know, from that band One Detection?" He shrugged. "One Direction, and yeah I guess I do haha." I giggled. He nodded, still smiling. "I'm gonna go hit up some waves. Do you want to come or what..." He trailed off. "I'll come, it sounds fun. I've never been surfing before." I smiled sheepishly. "Cool. Wait! You've never been surfing before?!" He asked, shocked. I shook my head. "I never got out much." "So how come you're all the way over here if you don't get out much?" Dylan asked, seeming genuinally intrigued. "I'd rather not speak about it." I said, smiling sadly. "That's cool. Let's go hit some waves!" He fist pumped the air. I laughed at his actions and ran after him along the beach.
"Two things, you're gonna have to take off that jacket and also can you swim?" He said. "Yeah I can swim." I laughed. "Cool! Well here's your board!" He beamed, handing me a pink and blue surf board. "I'll teach you the basics on land and then we can head out and your can try it for real if you want?" He asked me. "Sounds like a plan. Will you stay with me in the water though?" I asked him, rocking back and forth on my heels. "Of course." He smiled. I returned the gesture and slipped off my hoodie. I also kicked off my sandals and placed them next to my hoodie.
~An Hour Later~
I finished my surfing session with Dylan and we decided to head back onto shore. When we sat down on the sand I pulled my jacket over my feet. We laid back onto the sand looking up at the blue sky. "I had loads of fun thanks." I said to him. "It was no problem at all. Hey, we should exchange numbers so we can hang out again." He said, turning to face me. "Sure! Oh, I left my phone at the hotel." I sighed. "No problem, we can go get it. I left my phone at my hotel too." He smiled. "Okay then." I smiled. Dylan also smiled as we stood up and dusted ourselves off. I slipped back into my jacket and took my hair bobble out, letting my hair cascade down my back. I put on my sandals and began to walk off the beach. "Wait up!" Dylan exclaimed, grabbing my hand and pulling me off the beach. "Steady on." I giggled. "Sorry." He said. I smiled, looking down at my feet.
"Here's my hotel." I said, pointing to the hotel that was across the street. "That's my hotel too! It's where I work and live!" He beamed, a smile lighting up his gorgeous face. "Well okay! That's cool!" I smiled. We walked into the hotel, our hands still entwined. "I had fun this morning." I said when we reached my floor. "Me too. How about you run and get your phone and I wait here." He suggested. "Or you could come with me?" I asked. "Okay." He smiled. I nodded and we walked into my hotel room, hand in hand.
Everyone's eyes shot up to look at me and Dylan. "And you were?" Asked Sarah. "At the beach." I shrugged. "Doing?" She went on. "Surfing. Ergh, you do not control me. I'm seventeen years old and perfectly capable of going down to the beach." I sighed, dumping my free hand in my hoodie pocket. "We're just looking out for you." Harry said. "I know Haz but I don't need to be monitored twenty-four seven." I said. "Sorry, I didn't know you had a boyfriend." Dylan said, dropping my hand. "I don't." I said, taking his hand and looking up into his eyes. He smiled at me and I smiled back. "So who's this?" Liam raised an eyebrow. "Dylan, he took me surfing. He's my friend. What do you take me for?" I asked. "Nothing." He backed down. "Wait, this is that band thing, you reminded me of the blond one." Dylan said. "Urgh yeah, Niall." I blushed, awkwardly scratching the back of my neck. "Yeahhh." Dylan trailed off. "They're your best friends." He said. I nodded. "I'll go get my phone." I said walking off to my bedroom to get my phone. When I went back into the living room it all went silent. "What were you talking about?" I asked them all. Zayn just cocked his head towards the kitchen. I looked in that direction and immediately regretted it once my eyes met the familiar blue ones. I quicklu turned away and sheepishly smiled at Dylan. "Do you wanna add your number?" I asked him. He nodded and I handed him my phone. He handed it back and I looked at his contact name: 'Dyll :D'
"Okay, well I'll catch ya later yeah Di? Can I call you that?" He asked. "Sure and sure!" I smiled. "Great well text me later so I have your number and then we can go surfing again?" He suggested. "Sounds like a plan." I said, happily. "Right see you then Di." He smiled, walking towards the door and out into the corridor. "Yeah, bye Dyll." I smiled, using the nickname he registered in my phone. He kissed my cheek in a friendly manor before he disappeared down the hall.
When I went back into the suite I was bombarded with questions. "He's ca-yute!" Sarah squealed. "Did you see his eyes? And his hair? Oh my gosh I want one!" She added. "Hmmm." I mumbled, not really paying attention. "Why are you here?" I asked Niall. Making it more awkward stupidly. "I was alone." He shrugged. "So was I, for ten years. But oh well." I also shrugged. "So you met a guy." He said. "What does it have to do with you. I'm anorexic remember?" I taunted. "For god's sake Diana! I didn't mean it like that!" He yelled, raising his voice with each word. I flinched before standing up and grabbing my phone. "Di-" He started but I cut himm off. "No! No Niall! Sorry doesn't cut it every single time! I could sit and listen to my dad apologising for the rest of his life but it is';t going to happen because 'sorry' doesn't mean a goddamn thing! It won't change the past will it?!" I screamed at him. He sunk down in his seat looking sad but I didn't care right now. "I'm going out." I stated. "Where?" Niall asked. "Somewhere you're not. Maybe I'll go surfing and get washed away who knows?! Who cares?!" I yelled, walking out of the door and slamming it hard behind me.
Well there goes a good morning.
