Diana (Niall Horan Fanfic)

Chapter Twenty-One

Diana's POV

The car stopped outside of Niall's house and I immediately got out of the car. Someone grabbed my arm but I harshly pulled it back. "Don't touch me." I hissed. I then continued to walk towards the house. "So you're just going to walk away from all your problems again?!" Niall shouted. "No! I'm going to pack my bags and fuck off somewhere else!" I shouted as I neared the house. "You can't because you don't have a guardian!" He said. Trying to be cocky are we? "You do not own me! You just want me dead! Like you said 'Fuck off Diana' so do you know what Horan? I'll do just that!" I screamed, storming into the house and running up the stairs into Niall's room where I began packing my stuff.

Niall's POV

"You said that to her?!" Harry yelled at me. I shrugged. "Niall, do you not understand that what she's been through and is going through has scarred her? You're meant to be there for her! Not encouraging her to leave!" Liam shouted. "I'm sorry she accused me of not caring!" I defended. "She accused you of not caring because she was in some place in Ireland while you were sat on your lazy arse wondering where she may be! I bet you weren't panicking! You don't care about her do you?!" He screamed.

We heard the noise of gravel crunching so we turned our heads to look at the door. There she stood with all her bags. I can't believe she was serious. "Bye." She huffed, strolling past us and into the night. "So you're just gonna let her go? Just like that?" Liam asked, astonished. I shrugged again. "She won't get far. She only has thirty quid." I said. "Stuff you." Liam scoffed. He then started running after Diana and I was left on the spot with three angry boys staring at me.

Liam's POV

I ran where I saw Diana walk off. When I saw a light I knew it was her. "Diana!" I called. She turned around looking alarmed. "Don't run. You can come and stay with me and Dani if you'd like. We could fly you back to London with us next Friday." I said. "What's the catch?" She asked. "There's no catch. Just me wanting the best for you." I sighed. "Fine, but I haven't got anywhere to stay in London." She shrugged. "You'll stay with me in my flat of course." I smiled. "I don't want to be a burden." She sighed. "Di, I'm offering. I've already talked Dani and she says it's a good idea. I promise you won't be a burden." I said. "Urgh, fine. I wasn't going to win the argument anyway." She shrugged. I smiled widely before taking her hand and leading her back to Niall's house. "Um, why are we here?" She asked me. "Because we can't get back tonight so we're stuck here." I said sympathetically. "Oh god." She said, taking a deep breath before walking up to the house.

Diana's POV

I took a deep breath before walking up to the house. I stepped inside and heard nothing. Nobody was making a noise. Liam soon entered after me and we went into the living room where still no-one made an appearance. I dropped my bags on the floor and walked over to the cupboard under the stairs which I had learnt held all the blankets and duvets. I grabbed a couple of pillows and a double duvet and made my way over to the large sofa bed. "I think we'll have to sleep here tonight." I shrugged. Liam looked awkward. "I'm not going to rape you but I'm not going to sleep with Niall. I can sleep on the floor if you want?" I offered. "It's not fair that you sleep on the floor so no, I guess one night won't hurt." He said. I faked looking hurt. "Chill, I'm kidding. I don't mind whether I sleep with you or not. I love Dani and Dani only so it's not like I'd try anything with you." Liam scoffed, taking off his shirt and trousers and climbing under the duvet I laid out on the sofa bed. I couldn't help but stare at his abs when he took off his shirt. He was really fit. Oh god. I can't and I won't develop a crush on Liam. One, he's with Danielle and two, I just broke up with Niall. I shouldn't be browsing for boys.

I went into the bathroom and changed into my pyjamas. When I went back into the living room Liam was already fast asleep. I put my clothes into one of my bags and climbed in next to Liam. I was nearly asleep when I heard something that put my brain into panic mode...

Just as I was falling asleep I heard Liam murmur: "I love you Di."

I began to panic. This couldn't happen. He's with Dani and he loves her. He said that himself. I gulped hard before getting out of the covers and walking out into the back yard. I saw some of Zayn's cigarettes and a lighter lying on the table. I grabbed a cigarette and lit it with the lighter. The end was glowing orange and I placed the tip into my mouth before inhaling the smoke. I started to cough loudly but recovered quickly. I inhaled another amount of smoke before exhaling it more easily. "Diana?" I looked up to see Liam standing by the patio doors rubbing his eyes. "Why are you out here?" He asked me, stepping out into the garden to join me by the table. "I was thinking." I shrugged before taking another drag of the cigarette. "About?" He said questioningly. "Something you said." I shook my head. "What did I say?" He asked. "Well I was almost asleep and I heard you say and I quote 'I love you Di'." I said. "I said that?" Liam said, astonished. "Yes, but you were asleep." I said quickly. "But I still said it." He said, looking sad. "But you love Dani so it must've just been a mistake. I mean, you were asleep." I said. "No, it was the truth. Ever since I met you I had feelings for you but I thought they'd disappear after knowing you more but they've just got stronger. It doesn't even feel right being with Dani anymore." He sighed. "Why didn't you tell anyone?" I asked. "Because they'd probably be mad that I don't have feelings for Dani anymore." He said. "Since when do you smoke?" He asked, changing the subject. "I don't. I found Zayn's packet and tried it. Definitely not my thing." I shuddered. "So, you like-like me?" I asked awkwardly, leaning against the table still. "Urm, yeah I guess." Liam said, scratching the back of his neck. "I was actually kinda developing feelings for you too." I said, staring out into the nothingness surrounding us. "Really?" He asked sounding shocked. "Well yeah, I mean you've never yelled at me and you've always been there when I needed someone most. You're so protective and you wouldn't let anything happen to me. You're perfect boyfriend material and Dani must feel so lucky." I said, turning to Liam and smiling. "But I don't have feelings for Dani anymore." He said matter-of-factly. "Well don't you think she should know that? You are still in a relationship with her." I stated. "I'll call it quits when we get back to London." He said, seeming happy with his idea. "What about us then?" I asked. "We could see how we get along living with each other full time. If it works out maybe we could give a relationship a go?" He suggested. "That sounds fair. Is there anyway you'd want to fly back to London sooner?" I asked. "Yeah, we could go back on Monday if you like." He said. "Only if you're okay with that." I said. "I'm sure." He said. "Will Dani be sure?" I questioned. "I think she's eying bored of Ireland so probably." He said. "Well I'm going to go to sleep." I said, walking back into the house. "Me too." Liam said, following me inside.

When we were inside we shut the doors and climbed under the duvet. Liam loosely wrapped an arm around my waist and we fell asleep in that position. Just listening to each others breathing and heart beats. It was quite a blissful way to fall asleep.

I uploaded today as I'm going to my dads tomorrow and I won't be able to start writing and uploading the next chapter for a few days! :)
