Diana's POV
When we got onto the beach Dylan lead me over to some lockers. "We can put our things in here." He smiled, pulling a key out of his pocket and unlocking the large locker. He threw in his towel, sunglasses and after I took off my sunglasses, put them in my bag and threw my bag into the locker along with Dylan's stuff. Dylan locked the locker and tied the key lace around his wrist. He then grabbed my hand and pulled me out to the water.
"You remember everything from this morning?" He asked when we got nearer to the water. I nodded, happily. "You wanna get straight to it?" He asked. I nodded again, smiling. We ran into the water and I laid on my board once we were deeper.
I was moving through the water using my arms when I saw a wave approaching. I knelt down on my board when I saw the wave nearing. Finally I got to my feet and the wave rolled beneath me. I swerved my body on the board, gliding against the huge wave that just hit. When the wave died down I dived off my board and swam to the shore. Dylan was there, along with an audience. "Did you seriously just ride that wave?" He asked me, shocked. I shrugged. "That was amazing! Even I didn't attempt that one!" He exclaimed, pulling me into a hug. "I have fear of nothing." I smiled. "Nothing?" He raised an eyebrow. "Apart from being heartbroken." I sighed. "That won't happen." He whispered in my ear, hugging me again.
The audience behind us clapped loudly. Suddenly, a bunch of people can running towards me. "That was wicked!" Louis hollered. "I thought I told you to stay away from me." I said through gritted teeth. "We wanted to come to the beach though." He whined. "Diana please." An Irish accent said. I looked up from the ground and my eyes met with those blue ones. The blue eyes that looked at me and called me anorexic. I looked down at the ground for a few seconds once I broke our gaze. When I looked back up from the ground I avoided eye contact with Niall and turned to face Dylan. Slowly I leaned and eventually closed the gap between us.
Our lips moved in sync. To be truthfully honest the kiss was just amazing. Everything thing that had happened in the past disappeared from view and my mind. Everything and everyone around me disappeared from view and my mind. All that I could see was Dylan. It was as if it was just me and Dylan in the cruel world. Before I knew it, fireworks were going off around us. Not literal fireworks. The cheesy movie ones. And then...there were the sparks. The sparks made the kiss so much better, even though Dylan was a good kisser himself.
Niall's POV
Her bright green eyes met with mine for a few seconds. Her emotions changed rapidly; she looked scared, angry and then they changed to hurt. She broke the eye contact and looked to the ground. When she looked up she completely avoided eye contact and turned to face him. She turned to face that Dylan guy.
What hurt most was when she leaned in, and when she kissed him. I had no right to blame the dude anymore because it was all her this time. It was Diana who decided to kiss him there and then in front of me.
My heart began to ache more as they kissed for longer. The kiss looked like mine and Diana's second kiss. When our lips moved in sync and the sparks went off. That was when she was mine. Now she isn't and now there is nothing I can do about it.
Diana's POV
When Dylan and I pulled out of the kiss we looked into each others eyes and grinned. "Let's go get that ice-cream yeah?" He suggested. I nodded, lifting up my board. Dylan did the same with his board but he wrapped his free arm around my waist. We walked over to the locker leaving our audience behind. Probably shocked but oh well. Life is about taking risks.
We grabbed our stuff from the locker and I went into the changing room. When I got in the changing hut I got my towel out the bag and stripped from my soaked wet-suit and bikini. I dried myself off before slipping into the clean underwear and my playsuit. I fixed my messy bun in the mirror and applied some more waterproof cover up. When that was applied I slid my glasses onto my face and put my black, gladiator sandals on my feet. I looked in the mirror to make sure I looked presentable before spraying some deodorant. After I sprayed I rolled my wet clothes in my towel and shoved the towel in my back. I double checked I had everything before unlocking my stall and heading back out onto the beach where Dylan was waiting for me.
"You look gorgeous." He smiled, taking my hand in his. "Thank you." I said, looking up into his bright blue eyes and blushing slightly. "So, where are we gonna put our boards?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence. "In the locker." He chuckled, leading me back over to the locker. We placed our boards inside and Dylan locked it again. When he put the key in the pocket of his shorts we walked over to the beach bar.
We took a seat- a table for two. Dylan handed me a menu and took one for himself. As my eyes scanned the brightly coloured menu I felt someone staring at me. I looked up and smiled when I saw Dylan staring at me. "Why are you staring at me?" I asked. His cheeks started reddening and his eyes widened. "Oh...you're just so beautiful." He blushed. This made my own cheeks heat up and redden.
A blonde lady walked over to our table. "So, you two kids know what you want to order?" She asked, with a strong American accent. "I'll have the two scoop salted caramel ice-cream and a 'Summer Lush' smoothie in large please." Dylan said. "And for you?" The lady said. "I'd like the medium banana split with extra whipped cream and a 'Tropical Bliss' smoothie in medium also please." I smiled, looking at the waitress. "Coming up." She smiled back, before walking off towards the kitchen.
"So, how old are you Dyll?" I asked. "Well I turned eighteen a couple months ago, and yourself?" He asked politely. "I'm currently seventeen but eighteen in three weeks." I replied. "Cool, so what's your favorite colour?" He asked me. "The rainbow is pretty, you?" I giggled. "I don't have one." He shrugged. "Well, if you don't mind me asking. What's the deal with you, those girls and that band?" He asked curiously. "Ahh, it's kind of a long story. I'll maybe tell you one day." I smiled awkwardly. He nodded. "How long are you in Miami for?" He asked. "Only two weeks but with you working and living in the hotel I'm staying at I trust I'll be seeing you a lot." I smiled. "Yes you will, and you'll have to come surfing with me loads!" He grinned cheekily. I nodded, laughing lightly.
About ten minutes after our conversation started the waitress returned placing our ice-cream and smoothies in front of us. We both thanked her kindly before digging in. When we'd finished we both stood from the table and walked over to the till, hand in hand. The waitress who served us was stood there. "Okay kids, that'll be eight dollars and fifty five cents." She said. I dug into my bag to retrieve my purse but when I finally pulled it out Dylan had paid. "I would've paid Dyll." I sighed. "It's fine, anyway I'm the guy." He protested, taking my hand and leading me out of the beach bar cafe.
We walked all the way back to the hotel. Hands entwined and in silence. The quietness was comfortable other than being awkward. When we reached the hotel we took the lift up to my floor. The doors 'dinged' and we exited the lift. I walked us up to my door. "Tonight was amazing thank you." I smiled, looking into his eyes. "There's always tomorrow." He smiled, leaning down and pecking my lips softly. We pulled away and smiled, saying goodbye before I entered my room.
However, I was not prepared for what I witnessed...
