TW/ DRUG USE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
"Whoa, what the hell is going on?" Joba asked, emerging from the glass doors. Officers were scattered around the house, logging what had been broken.
"Are you the homeowner?" An officer asked Joba, standing from her kneeling position.
"No, I'm just renting this house. What happened?"
"There's been an intruder. He left a note in the master bedroom. We were alerted because your friends-" started the officer, getting cut off by Alicia wrapping her arms around Joba in relief.
"Joba, thank god. Where the fuck is Andrea?" She asked frantically.
"Out on the beach, what the fuck?" He said, completely dazed with everything that was going on. Matt appeared from the living room, arms crossed.
Alicia took off running to the beach, Matt groaning in response.
"She keeps running everywhere." He chuckled, shaking his head.
"I need to call the lady that owns the house, give me a second." Joba sighed, pinching his temple and walking to the master bedroom. His phone was dead and he needed to charge it.
Meanwhile, Alicia had found Andrea on the beach and was yelling at her.
"Why the fuck would you turn off your find my friends? Oh my god, I thought you were dead!" Alicia yelled, wiping the tears that were falling down her cheeks.
"You're so dramatic, I turned it off so he wouldn't find me." Andrea reasoned, shaking her head.
"Andrea, he fucking found you. The house is trashed." Alicia mumbled, sniffling and looking down at her feet.
"W-What?" Andrea asked nervously, immediately standing from the sand.
"I came as soon as you stopped answering my texts and I found the house broken into. I was so fucking scared something had happened to you, oh my god." Alicia cried, hugging herself.
Andrea pulled her into her arms, hugging her tightly as she also began to cry. She was on this guy's radar again, despite doing everything in her power to stay away from him.
"Let's go back to the house. I need to talk to Joba." Andrea said hoarsely, clearing her throat and patting Alicia's back. They grabbed the towels and the rest of their stuff before following the trail back up to the house.
Joba was on the phone, still talking to the homeowner. Andrea went through the glass doors to find the crime scene. She was filled with all these emotions and she just wanted to hide in a dark room and cry.
Matt hugged Andrea when she entered, she knew he was hugging her out of pity.
She accpeted the hug but turned to Alicia.
"You told him." Andrea said as Alicia looked down.
"Yes, I had to."
"Alicia, I told you to not tell anyone. I don't want pity." Andrea exclaimed as Alicia rolled her eyes.
"How else was I gonna justify driving all the way out here like a lunatic?"
"Who the fuck told you to do that?" Andrea yelled, crossing her arms.
"I did it because I fucking care about you. When I walked in here and found the house like this, I thought that my life was over. I thought you were fucking gone."
"You don't need to tell other people the shit that's happening in my life. I didn't tell Joba about Ricky."
"Who's Ricky?" Matt asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Wow, thanks." Alicia laughed, shaking her head.
"I can handle this on my own, have fun explaining that one." Andrea huffed before storming off into the bedroom.
Joba was laying down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. He heard Andrea come into the room and sat up.
"Hey." Joba said, Andrea stood at the door. She finally understood the magnitude of what was going on.
Andrea sat down beside him holding his hands.
"I'm so sorry Joba. I didn't think this would happen."
"As long as you're safe, I'm good." Joba said, wrapping her into a hug as she cried, her face buried into his chest.
A knock made them slowly detach as Joba opened the door. A police officer stood there, holding the note that was inside a ziploc bag.
"This is the evidence that the intruder left behind." The officer said before handing Joba the bag.
Joba read it and sighed, passing it over to Andrea.
"Shit, fuck." Andrea cussed, gripping the ziploc bag and staring at it intensely.
"This is the guy who basically gave me all the drugs and um he-" Andrea told Joba as he sat down beside her again.
"He um-" Andrea choked up on the words, not being able to talk.
Joba held her hands, as she countined.
"He abused me. If I refused to do anything he wanted to do, he would hit me and kick me. I was trapped. My roomates didn't care. Heck he would hit me right in front of them." Andrea said holding back her tears.
"Carebear, I'm so sorry." Joba sighed, pulling her into a hug. She sobbed into his chest, clinging onto him with the only strength she had left. She hadn't felt this way in a really long time. She forgot what real fear felt like. Meanwhile, Matt was now interrogating Alicia in the living room.
"Who's Ricky?" he asked flatly, crossing his arms.
"I don't want to talk about that right now." Alicia sighed, putting her head in her hands. She felt
overwhelmed with everything that was happening."Ali, please." Matt sighed, reaching for her hand.
She crashed down onto the couch, rubbing at her eyes that were still swollen from crying.
"He was my last boyfriend in Miami. I definitely didn't love him, but our friends set us up and I sorta felt forced to be with him. We were as dysfunctional as you'd expect." she laughed sarcastically, shaking her head."I put myself in the dumbest fucking situation, but he had taken videos of us having sex without me knowing and when I broke things off he threatened to send them out to everyone I knew, family, friends, even coworkers. So I stayed with him and he made my life awful. He was my biggest mistake." Alicia admitted, looking at Matt with a frown.
He sighed, wrapping an arm around her and kissing the top of her head.
"You don't feel like that with us, right?" he wondered, raising an eyebrow.
"No, of course not. I love you, don't say shit like othat." she mumbled, turning her face to meet his gaze.
"I love you too, baby." he mumbled, leaning down and pressing his lips against hers.
The two couples sat on opposite sides of the house, in each other's arms as millions of thoughts went through their heads. Lots of shit was going on.
