TW/ DRUG USE
Joba and Andrea were only on the road for a few minutes until Andrea had fallen asleep. Joba shook his head and smiled to himself because of how fast Andrea could go to sleep in a car. She had a lot of car anxiety and falling asleep was the easiest way for her to deal with it. She hugged her knees to her chest and faced her body towards Joba as he sped down the highway.
The soft 70s music played in the cars stereo, Joba stroking Andrea's hair absentmindedly as she moved closer to him instinctively. Joba woke Andrea up gently so she could see the beaches as they drove down the road. She opened her eyes slowly as she looked over to the window.
"Woah it looks like the beaches from back home." Andrea said in between yawns.
"I've never been out here." Joba mentioned, glancing at the changing landscapes.
"I lived here when I first moved out to Cali, it was interesting to say the least." Andrea chuckled, looking back at Joba.
"Why'd you leave?" Joba asked glancing back at her.
"Some bad situations I put myself through, plus I wanted to move to LA and so did Alicia, so it all worked out." She shrugged, turning her attention to the glimmering water.
Joba drove up to the house he had rented, parking in the driveway and grabbing their bags from the back.
"Guess who's home, bitch!" Andrea yelled, throwing her arms up playfully until she noticed the neighbors outside staring at her.
Joba laughed and shook his head, taking their bags through the front door.
"Oops." Andrea whispered, following him into the small beach house which was actually on the beach. This surprised Andrea because her living situation here was three roommates and a tiny apartment.
Joba excitedly ran around the house as Andrea chased him around.
They looked at all of the house which included an open kitchen, living room, a bathroom, a guest room, and a master suite.
They stopped though at the master, which had large glass doors and a balcony overlooking the beach. She smiled widely, stepping out onto the balcony and leaning on the rail as she took in the view.
"Holy fuck." Joba said in awe, wrapping his arms around Andrea from behind. The two stared out at the endless ocean.
"Why did you do this?" Andrea said, leaning her head back against his chest. She couldn't think of a reason why this boy would go to the extremes to do this for her. She just couldn't believe it was real, that he cared about her this much. The annoying part of her brain didn't think she deserved any of this.
"What do you mean?" Joba wondered, looking down at her.
"No one's ever done anything remotely as thoughtful as this for me. What made you do this?" Andrea asked looking down, feeling like she didn't deserve this.
Joba sighed, spinning her to face him and taking her chin in his hands.
"Because I love you."
Andrea smiled widely, her cheeks heating up at his words. Even though they had already said it to each other a million times, it always made her happy to hear him say that.
"I love you too." She said, Joba pulling her closer and leaving her with multiple kisses as Andrea had her hands gently gripping his face.
They stayed there for a few minutes before finally laying down on the bed, not letting go of each other. They decided to order some breakfast to the house and spend the morning in bed before hitting the beach.
___
Joba and Andrea laid down on the beach, which was surprisingly empty. They were sprawled out on towels while listening to the music blasting from Andrea's speaker.
"I'm gonna get all red now." Joba said turning to Andrea as she rolled her eyes.
"You just put a shit ton of sunscreen on, you'll be fine." Andrea laughed, stroking his shoulder.
"Okay well, let's see about that. You're lucky you're not white." Joba pouted as Andrea giggled.
"Thank god i'm not a straight white male right?" Andrea said raising her eyebrows as Joba blushed from embarrassment.
"Oops, nevermind." Joba said looking away as Andrea chuckled, pecking his lips.
"Wow remember that thing we said before we like made out?" Joba asked, facing at the sky, his hands crossed on his chest as he squinted up at the sun.
"Oh those like three words? Hm, I don't know if I can remember them." Andrea giggled, going in the same position as Joba.
"Oh wait wasn't it, I love you?" He smirked, rolling to face her. She turned to face him, the two laughing at how ridiculous they were. Joba kissed her quickly with a wink, turning back to face the sky.
"Um, so you said that some bad situations happened here." Joba wondered, looking back to her as she sighed.
"Yeah, I wasn't really in the best state of mind when I was here." Andrea admitted, turning over to her side as Joba did the same.
"I was 20 and really fucking stupid. I did a lot of awful shit, drank and did any fucking drug I could find almost everyday. I was addicted. The people I was with weren't stable either and I had virtually no support system." Andrea said closing her eyes and opening them slowly.
Joba took her hand and kissed her knuckles as she smiled slightly.
"But I'm better now. Rehab and family helped me. A lot."
"I'm glad you're doing better now. You deserve it, carebear. You are so fucking talented and hardworking. You derserve the universe." Joba mumbled, a tear falling down Andrea's cheek as Joba wiped it away.
"Sorry, thinking about that is really hard. I don't recognize that person."
"Don't apologize for feeling things." Joba sighed, kissing her softly as she smiled and admired him.
"I love you." Andrea said looking into his blue eyes and tiny freckles.
"I love you too" He said back admiring her curly hair that covered the side of her face.
They stayed there, just staring at each other with so much love. They did that often, without even notitcing that they were. They spent the rest of the afternoon tanning and splashing around in the water happily.
