TW// SEXUAL ASSAULT
Alicia finished up applying her lipstick before setting her face with a setting spray. She had decided to meet with Tony for drinks and she was honestly a little nervous. It had been a while since she'd been on a date.
Andrea knocked at the door, smiling widely as she opened it and saw her best friend in her cute little outfit. She sat at the edge of her bed, crossing her legs and squealing excitedly.
"Are you nervous?" Andrea asked, Alicia turning to face her.
"A little. It's been a while, I'm rusty."
"It'll be great, you'll see. What bar are y'all going to?"
"Matt suggested this new one he went to, said the music was pretty good."
"You told Matt about your date?" Andrea asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I?"
"No, nothing. Nevermind." Andrea mumbled, thinking about how Matt had admitted his feelings for her. Had something changed? Why was he encouraging her to go out with someone else?
"Oh, he's here! I've gotta run" Alicia perked up, hugging Andrea goodbye and running down to the car that was waiting for her.
Andrea immediately texted Matt, trying to figure out what was going on.
"why would you encourage a date with someone else"
"i'm not completely over my ex and it's not fair to treat alicia like a rebound"
"fuck ur a good dude"
"thanks"
"k get over it and date my bff pls and thx"
"y'all are suffocating me"
"too bad"
Alicia hopped in Tony's car, smiling widely as they greeted each other. They drove over to the bar, making small talk about work and upcoming projects on the way there. Once they arrived, he parked on the side of the street and led her over through the front doors of the bar.
They took a seat at the bar and ordered their drinks. Pretty soon, one drink turned to two. Alicia always held her liquor really well, but she felt super dizzy for some reason. Everything was spinning.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom really quick, hold on." She slurred, stumbling to the bathroom.
She walked to the mirror, staring at her reflection. She felt like she was melting into the sink. She checked the time and saw that she had a text from Matt.
"how's it going ratty"
"fggood"
"are you drunk"
"hasakos no"
"yes"
"2 dink slnly"
Matt felt his stomach churn. He didn't know why, but he felt that something was wrong. He grabbed his jacket and his keys, running over to his car and speeding off to the bar. It wasn't too far from the house and he got there relatively quickly.
He showed his ID and walked in, searching frantically for her. He didn't see her anywhere, so he went to the bathroom and knocked on the door.
"Alicia, are you in there?"
He heard a groan from the other side of the door, and he opened it cautiously. He didn't want to invade anyone's privacy, but he needed to make sure Alicia was okay. His face fell as he saw her laying on the floor.
"Alicia, come on." he sighed, helping her up. She could barely stand, and he immediately knew something was wrong. He carried her in his arms out through the front door, laying her down in the car. He opened a window and closed the door to make sure she didn't run off, but she was passed out either way.
Matt made his way back into the bar, calling over a bartender.
"How many drinks did my friend have? She has really curly hair and red lipstick on."
"2, why? Is she okay?" The bartender asked, shaking a cocktail.
"She's fine, who was she with?"
"That guy over there."
"Call the police, he roofied her." Matt muttered, crossing his arms.
"On it."
Matt left his contact information with the bartender and drove all the way home, drumming his fingers nervously. Alicia was blacked out in his backseat, and he felt completely hopeless. Was this his fault? He had encouraged her to go out with this guy. He could've stopped her.
He parked in front of their apartment building, carefully carried her in his arms, and called Andrea to let him into the staircase. She came down the stairs, eyebrow raised as she saw Alicia passed out in his arms.
"What's going on?"
"Let's go inside." Matt sighed, following her up the stairs. He walked in the front door, Joba standing from the couch in confusion.
"What the fuck?" Joba asked.
Matt laid her down on her bed, covering her body with a blanket. He felt so guilty, like this was something that could've been avoided. This was someone she worked with, how would he protect her there?
Matt emerged from her room, Joba and Andrea standing in the kitchen, arms crossed and extremely worried.
"The motherfucker roofied her." Matt seethed, running his hands through his hair.
"W-What? Are you sure?" Andrea asked, the tears forming in her eyes.
"She had two drinks and she was blacking out on a bathroom floor. I'm positive. If I hadn't gotten there in time, I don't know what would've happened."
"Did you call the police?" Joba asked, wrapping an arm around Andrea supportively.
"The bartender did, I left my contact info and brought her home. I didn't just want to leave her in the car. She was completely passed out."
Andrea sighed, pulling away from Joba's embrace and walking to Alicia's room. She looked through her makeup before pulling out her makeup wipes. She sat on the edge of her bed, wiping off her best friend's makeup. She didn't realize she was crying until she felt the tears on her cheeks. She gently wiped off all of her makeup before sniffling and standing from the bed.
Andrea knew that these things happened, but it had never happened to anyone she knew, especially in such a public place. Alicia wasn't an idiot either, she would've noticed if this guy didn't know what he was doing. He had definitely done this before.
The three spent the rest of the night in the family room, no one being able to sleep. They had too many things going through their minds. Andrea texted Roy and let him know what was going on. He was really upset. He had known Alicia since he was little and they were practically siblings. Anything that happened to her hurt him too.
Matt sighed, standing from the living room and walking over to Alicia's room. She was still completely blacked out, and his heart broke at the sight of her. He sat down on the floor against her bed, leaning his head against the mattress. He sat there for a while until he eventually dozed off.
