Chapter 4: Saving Raph

The storm was getting more and more hectic as the mutants above tried to scurry for cover.

"Mikey! Donnie! Leo!" Raph called from above.

"Master Shredder! We need to get out of here!" Rahzar insisted.

Shredder growled then ran. Shelly quickly swam up to me.

"Jamie, we have to get out of here!" she yelled.

"No! Not until I know Raphael is safe!" I refused.

Then I heard a thud and saw someone splash into the water. I swam below to see Raph, knocked out and sinking to the bottom. Fear came over me and I swam hard and fast to get him. I finally made it to him, grabbed him, and pulled him to the surface as fast as I could. I dragged him to the edge of the shore line and laid him down on his shell as the storm started to clear up. Shelly and Sebastian stayed in the water as Scuttle flew up to me and I looked at him full of concern.

"Was I too late?" I asked.

"It's hard to say," Scuttle answered.

He lifted Raph's foot and put his ear up to it.

"Oh, I-- I can't make out a heart beat!" he sobbed.

I looked sadly at Raphael until I saw him coughing then breathing.

"No, look! He's breathing!" I exclaimed joyfully, then added, "Oh, guys. Just look at him. He's so beautiful."

I gently placed my hand on his cheek as I softly sang to him.

"Part of Your World (Reprise)"

"What would I give
To live where you are?
What would I pay
To stay here beside you?

Smiling at me?

Where would we walk?
Where would we run?
If we could stay all day in the sun?

I noticed he was looking at me, his eyes squinting, and I slowly started leaning in.

"On your way kid. Before you's discovered," Scuttle urged.

I jumped into the water and Sebastian, Shelly, and I moved a little ways away from the shore.

"Raph!" the orange clad turtle shouted as he hugged him.

"Mikey, I'm fine," Raph insisted, gently pushing Mikey off of him.

"What happened?" the one in blue asked.

"I think a girl around my age saved my life, Leo," Raph answered.

"Really? Are you sure you weren't just imagining things?" the purple clad turtle said doubtfully.

"Donnie, I know what I saw. I practically felt her stroking my cheek in a loving way," Raph insisted.

My stomach was full of excitement when he said that.

"Raph, you should know out of all of us that that's most likely not true," Leo said.

"Well, it is," Raph promised.

"Alright, bro. It is," Mikey said.

"She was as real as a mermaid," Donnie replied.

They left and I swam to a rock as I looked at the red-clad turtle with nothing but love.

"I don't know when
I don't know how
But I know something's starting right now
Watch and you'll see
Some day I'll be
Part of your world"

I swam to the bottom of the ocean with Shelly right behind me. I swear I am in love.
