I slid my little denim shorts and white laced top on over my bathing suit, taking one last bit of my cheerios before pouing it down the sink. My hair was up in a messy bun and I had basically no make up on. Who cares? I'm spending this day at the pool.

I left my room, making sure to grab a towel, my hotel key, and phone. I took small steps down the hall and was looking down at my feet when I turned the corner. Of course, I ran into somebody. My head jolted up and I held my hands out. Just my luck.

"Sorry babe, didn't see you coming!" Josh patted my shoulder. I just smiled and shook my head, indicating it wasn't his fault. His eyes drifted down to my outfit and the things I was holding. "Going somewhere?"

"Pool."

"Mind if I join?" Josh pointed down at his swimsuit. Ugh, nooo please no.

"Yeah, no problem." I said sweetly, but screamed at myself in my mind. I just couldn't say no to certain people! He smiled and gestured that he'd follow me.

We rode down together, squeezing through the small crowds of people and found two lounge seats in the sun. I unrolled my towel out on the chair, took off my cover up clothes, and laid down out on the chair. Josh did the same, but with his lounge seat. Sadly, we didn't sit in silence for long.

"So, what are you doing on tour with us?" He peeked over at me, having to squint his eyes because of the sun.

"Well, my parents got a divorce because of this job, and I haven't seen my mum ever since they split up. And my dad has always had this job, so instead of getting a new one, he decided to just homeschool me when August comes around, instead of letting me go to uni, and make me travel around with him." I didn't look at him while I spoke, but I knew he wasn't looking at me either.

"Must've been pretty hard then, yeah?"

"You've got no idea. I had to say goodbye to tons of people. The stupid thing is I could've stayed with my grandparents, but no. He insisted on me coming with him. "

"Boyfriend?" He asked casually. Why was this boy getting so personal..? And why was I opening up to him so easily?

"Umm, yeah, actually. He didn't trust me with five famous boys and wasn't wiling to do a long distances soo..." I bit my lip, fighting back the tears that were being built up from the memories of Dalton. I feel like two years just went to waste.

"Sorry about that, babe."

Psh, you're not sorry. There's just nothing else for you to say.

"Yeah, well what about you? Any girlfriend?"

"Yeah, actually." He spoke with confiedence. I shaded my eyes with my hand, blocking the sun from hitting them. My head tilted towards him and he smiled in my direction.

"Awe, cute. So what do you do in the band?"

"Drummer."

"Sweet. Where are the boys and my dad, anyways?"

"They had to go to a signing, ut we have a concert later tonight. You should see if your dad will let you come. They're loads of fun."

"Yeah, that'd be great." I lied. There are better things I could do besides go to a con- actually...there's nothing else I can do.

"GOODNIGHT LOS ANGELES!" Liam shouted to the crowd, cueing thousands of screams. I laughed at the sight of Niall doing a split type jump seven feet in the air. Then, the boys were gone. To be honest, they were a lot better than I expected. Their songs were cute, voices were incredible, and they were always doing something different up on stage. I think I ended up enjoying myself more than I planned.

I glanced over at  my dad, who was giving me the signal to follow him. I fixed my high waisted shorts and loose blouse, flicked my long, straight hair of my shouler, and followed my dad backstage. There, I sat down and watched as all the boys greeted the VIP fans and spend a little time with them. It was kinda adorable to see them with all these girls that loved them so much.

When everybody left, I was told to leave so the boys gould change and cool down. I nodded at the lady who told me to do so and got up to follow her. Right as I was walking out, a strong hand got a gentle grip on my arm.

"Wanna go out with us tonight?" Zayn smiled. I scrunched my nose.

"By out, I'm sure you mean club. I'm seventeen, can't get into them."

"That's fine, we were planning on going down to the local fair on the beach, anyways. I heard it's supposed to be grea-"

"You are not going anywhere with these boys, Ariana." My dad's stern voice made me wince a little because I didn't know he was standing there.

"Daddy, but-"

"Come on, Paul. All of us plus Josh and Dan are going, and it's not like she's got anything else to do. We'll stay out of trouble and we'll take care of her. Promise."

My dad exchanged a narrowed look between me, Zayn, me, the boys, me, then Zayn again. His hands dropped from his chest to his sides and facial expression softened. I smiled at the sight of this.

"Okay, but no funny business." Dad pointed at Zayn's fingers that were still wrapped around my arm. He immediately retreated, dropping his arm down and nodded.

"Yes sir."
