Zoe's P. O. V

This is what a battlefield was like.

Looking at your enemy, smelling each others fear, knowing that you will probably die but still standing out of duty. The only thing is, the only reason I wasn't trembling was because I had a goddess in me. I couldn't possibly imagine how everyone else was taking this.

Hades.

The way he stood there. Just a moment ago it looked like we might have had a chance but that was before he had summoned a massive army and he started glowing with a purple haze. Now I didn't know what to do.

Thankfully, I didn't have to. In a second, Ares had jumped off his pillar, his grey eyes glinting, he summoned his spear and charged at Hades.

Hades sheathed his sword, tucked his left arm behind his back and made a gesture with the right hand saying 'bring it'. Ares charged straight ahead with godly speed and strength and leveled the spear at Hades chest. I thought he was a goner but clearly he wasn't.

"I will sever your limbs with your own spear." Hades had promised.

And that's exactly what he did. At the last second, he hit the spear away, grabbed its shaft and sent Ares flying back. He twirled the spear like a baton and struck Ares' leg while he was trying to rise. Then he swung again, this time across his chest. Ares howled before Hades made one more twirl and swung across Ares neck. The god's head rolled away and just for effect, Hades planted the spear into Ares decapitated body.

Aphrodite cried out. Zeus yelled for everyone to charge and immediately everyone did. Hades dead warriors mirrored our action.

I went straight for Hades but saw that he knelt down and was whispering something towards the body of Ares. Suddenly, the body got up, regenerated a new head and charged in Aphrodite's direction.

"I will kill you with the love you hold so precious." Hades promised Aphrodite.

This was just too much.

How did he get this bad? Nyx asked me. All I could do was mentally shrug.

The Olympians instantly overtook me, also zeroing on Hades except Aphrodite who had her own problems. Zeus threw a punch; Hades dodged it. Poseidon swung his trident low meaning to trip him but instead Hades jumped and kicked both of them away.

I say this all slow but it all really happened in two heartbeats.

A spear came flying but Hades caught it and threw it back to Athena. Demeter decided against getting in close and suddenly the street started rumbling. Giant roots and vegetation grew up where Hades was a second ago. Where he was now was leaping gracefully, dodging the roots as they enveloped the street.

Meanwhile, The Remnants were battling hard against the dead warriors. It wasn't a pretty sight and we weren't winning.

I jumped and ran up the roots. I flicked my hand and both my whip and the Nyx defense appeared. I flicked my whip at Hades, but he jumped back and punched at me. The flames flared up but apparently more energy was needed because a hot burning sensation flared up my chest. That being said, I was still thrown back a couple of feet. I immediately ran back.

Now, I just want to say something we already knew. Jake was a very talented fighter. When he was the leader of The Remnants, I saw him break metal and buildings alike with his hands. I saw him kill a dozen people in a few seconds. He was scary before now he was downright godly.

I threw punches, kicks, flicking my whip but he just dodged and blocked everything. It didn't help that Athena was at my side too. Her spear gave her extra reach and so did her shield but it had no effect on the wall we call Hades.

A roar came from overhead as Zeus did a flip and threw a lightning bolt at Hades head. Athena and I moved back. Athena threw her spear with enough force to dislodge a building and I thrust my hand towards him. I had no idea what I was doing but suddenly the Nyx defense flared into a fire rope in his direction. I didn't know I could do that.

Boom!

Booom!

Boooooooooom!

Hades was enveloped in smoke from the collective force of our attack. Zeus landed next to us. We weren't breathing hard, yet. I risked a glance to see what was happening down in the street and nearly choked.

The dead warriors were winning. The Remnants laid all around. Not moving. But with Nyx's eyes I saw that they were all wounded. They were still alive, though. It seemed the warriors goal was to kill them and then they'll fade away.

Look closer, Zoe Nyx told me.

I did. A moment ago I didn't realize it but now I could clearly see it, I was looking through a haze of magic. My eyes traced the origin to a goddess that seemed to split into three when she walked. She was making it seem as if we were losing forces rapidly. In doing so the dead warriors were disappearing fast. We could actually win this. Naturally this is when you, the reader, would slap me for saying those five words.

The smoke cleared up and the sight that followed made me sick. There, Hades stood, two arms held up, one black from stopping my attack and the other one had Athena's spear through it. Though it didn't seem to hurt him at all. The part that made me sick was the method he used to block Zeus' lightning bolt.

Because his entire body was shrouded in purple energy that I come to know was Hades true power and his true power had formed giant, glowing, transparent purple hand that had blocked the lightning bolt.
