8.

I was laying on my bed on my stomach reading a new book when my phone vibrated from my dresser. I got up and looked at it and saw a text from my older brother.

Liam : Skyler this is an emergency!!!! I need you to come home ASAP!!!! Please hurry!

My heart dropped. I scampered through my room packing things I thought I would need. I had no idea what was happening. I just hoped it wasn't my grandma.

I ran to the living room and saw Harry and Raine looking at me like I was crazy.

"It's my brother!" I said out of breath   "He texted me and said there was an emergency at home."

"Oh no! Do you need me to come with you?" Raine asked with a worried expression.

Harry was on the sofa, his legs propped up on the coffee table and his arms crossed. He just sat there.

"No I'm fine." I said and ran out the door. I would have been okay with Raine coming with me, but she would have had to pack and time was precious, especially because I didn't know what the emergency was.

I ran to a cab and told the driver to take me to the airport.

When I was finally in the plane, I took a breath for the first time in what seemed like years. Then my phone buzzed in my pocket.

Raine: Harry and I won't be here when you get back. We are going to see our Aunt who is in the hospital and will be there for the next 2 Days.

I turned my phone off and closed my eyes.

I woke up from a nap that I didn't mean to fall into. I looked around me and saw that the plane was landing.

I made it to my house as fast as I could. I knocked on the door repeatedly until it was opened. The door was answered by Liam who looked like he had just woke up. He looked shocked to see me.

"Sky? What are you doing here?" He asked looking confused.

"What do you mean what am I doing here? You texted me and said there was an emergency." I said trying to push past him to see if my grandma was alright.

"No...no I didn't." He then let me in the house. I walked past him and saw my grandma in the kitchen with an apron on.

"Townes!!!" She said when she saw me "What are you doing here honey? I've missed you so much." 

At this I was confused. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the text from Liam. Sure enough it was there plain as day.

"I...I...uh" I didn't know what to say so I just showed them the text. They looked at each other with wrinkled eyebrows.

"I did not send that." Liam told me with a serious look on his face.

"Then who did?" I asked and we all just stood there in shock.

I stayed with them for lunch and headed back to New York that night.

It was after midnight when I arrived back to my apartment. When I unlocked the door I stepped in and turned the light on.
