10.

I did as Harry told me and sat in the love seat. He took a seat across from me on the couch. Raine sat beside him with a sad look on her face.

"Are you sure you want to tell her?" She asked him and he slightly nodded. He then looked up at me and sucked in a deep breath.

"Three years ago in high school," he began telling the story with a devastated look on his face. "Niall dated my older sister, Gemma." I was taken back by this. Harry never mentioned a sister before. "I thought of Niall the same way that you do now. I thought that he was the most generous person. Little did I know." He took another deep breath and looked uneasy like he was trying not to cry. "One night Gemma and Niall were going out." He wiped a tear off of his cheek before speaking again. "I watched them walk out of the door of our home that night. But what I didn't realize was that it would be the last time I would ever see my big sister." I gasped and my eyes went wide.

"What happened?" I asked feeling bad for the two people sitting in front of me.

"Niall claims that they were coming out of the restaurant and as they were walking on the sidewalk, a man in a mask came up behind Gemma and snatched her away. He said he got away with her in a white van." Raine said answering my question.

"But I don't believe it." Harry said his eyes dark and cold. "There are not enough details to the whole thing and there is no evidence. Niall would have caught the damn guy." He put his face in his hands rubbing his eyes. "No one knows where she is or what happened to her. She just disappeared."

"Did they try to track her phone?" I asked in a naive manner.

"Niall had her phone because she asked him to hold on to it while she used the restroom. It was right after she came out of the restroom that she was taken away."

"I had no idea that you went through all of this." I said looking into Harry's soft emerald eyes. " I still don't understand why you hate Niall though." I muttered

"Don't you get it?! He could have saved her! He could have fought for her, but all he did was watch the person take her away." Harry was standing now.

"He could have saved her." Raine said with a tear running down her cheek.

"He could have brought her home to safety where she belonged. She didn't ask for it. She didn't deserve what she got. She didn't deserve any of it." I looked up to see both Harry and Raine with tears flowing down their cheeks.

"What did he do after she was taken?" I asked lowly.

"He just drove back to Harry's house and told Aunt Anne that she was gone." Raine said back to me "Jerk didn't even call the police." She scoffed.

"So do understand why it hurts us to see you with him?" Harry asked me looking at me sadly.

"Yes I get it now." I said my eyes swimming with tears.

I stood up walking over to the counter to grab my purse. I pulled my hair up in a ponytail quickly. I went in my room and got my black toms. I was slipping them on my feet when Raine gave me a confused look.

"Where are you going?" She asked me as I applied a bit of makeup to my face. I had to do this because tears had smudged it from earlier.

"I'm going to find Niall." I told her as if it were obvious enough.

"What?!" She literally screamed at me. "After everything we just told you? After that story of hearing about Gemma and what he did you are just going to find Niall?" She yelled as Harry sat there in the couch watching us.

"No no no don't worry this is not a friendly chat I'm going to have with him." I said trying to explain myself to them.

I didn't want them to think that I didn't understand why they didn't like him. Because now I was starting to question my judgment.

"What are you going to say?" Raine asked me curiously. I didn't know how to answer this because I hadn't thought about what I was actually going to say to him. I was just going to say what I thought when I saw him.

"I am not sure about that yet." I said "But trust me he is going to answer for what he did to your sister." I said looking at Harry giving him a small smile. I then walked out the door strutting down the hall.
