I'd like to say we gave it a try, I'd like to blame it all on life. Maybe we just weren't right. But that's a lie, that's a lie. And we can deny it as much as we want, but in time our feelings will show 'cause sooner or later we'll wonder why we gave up...

The truth is everyone knows, almost, almost is never enough, so close to being in love. If I would have known that you wanted me, the way I wanted you. Then maybe we wouldn't be two worlds apart, but right here in each other's arms. Here we almost, we almost knew what love was. But almost is never enough

~Psyche Saavedra-Castro

" Does it make sense if I tell you that Ralf is already asking for the real name of his father? "

Joei interrupted her thoughts, while her best friend arranged her clothes from her traveling bag to her closet. Joei just arrived from Jolo, Sulu and decided to assist her regarding their center's new office. Their previous one can't accommodate the bigger animals anymore. For two years and a half, the Fur-ever Love Rescue Center had gone really large because of the number of strays that they recovered from the streets and from those families who simply gave up on their house pets. They needed a larger place that could house large cages and their own office as well. They agreed to leave Ralf under the care of Psyche's aunt, while they arrange matters in the Metro. Psyche was staring blankly somewhere else while leaning against Joei's bedroom's window, her arms folded in front of her. She frowned, while her mind was busy musing. It's about Ralf in particular. She missed him badly and she wanted nothing else but to be with her son. She wasn't expecting that topic to be brought up too soon. Not when just a few days ago, Richard Armani came popping out of nowhere from her past. Not when Ralf is growing up looking like a spitting image of his biological father. Damnit.

" And? "

She said, almost jerking out from where she stood, her mind was beginning to work triple time. Her kid was far from being dull-witted. At the age of almost going three, Ralf was already bombarding the adults with questions. Joei stood and faced her.

" I told him to call his father... Richard Armani. I gave him a name. "

Her best friend said without any hint of regret, straight-faced, she almost thought she heard something else. Still gaping at Joei, her eyebrows furrowed.
