A Twist in Time (1)

Chapter One

Lily Evans was prepared to go back in time to go to her Potions lesson which happened to be at the same time as Ancient Runes. However, her Time-Turner, which she normally used to make it to all of her classes, was missing. And she knew exactly who had taken it. James Fleamont Potter. There was no other reason for it, she always keeps it in the exact same pocket or her bag as she was afraid to keep it around her neck in case someone spotted it. He must have seen her with the Time-Turner and nipped it from her bag That was something Potter would do. Lily stormed out of the broom closet she had been in hiding in. She stormed down the corridors until she reached the Entrance Hall and stormed through the large doors. Lily saw the four Marauders sitting under a tree, as they usually were at this time, James Potter sat throwing a Snitch back to himself. Lily furiously ran down the steps and stomped over to where the Marauders were sitting. She scowled at the raven-haired boy who simply smiled up at her without a care in the world.

"Potter!" Lily yelled full of anger, he had taken something that could cause a lot of problems for the entire wizarding world, and James wasn't known for being responsible, quite the opposite in fact. If he did something incredibly reckless and stupid, which was more likely than not, there could be some serious harm to the wizarding world.

"Evans!" James yelled back mocking her as he stood up and he got the Snitch once again and put it in his pocket. He had a wide grin on his face which he had always reserved for Lily. She was the love of his life, even if she didn't know it yet.

"Where is it!?" Lily growled finally reaching the four boys. Sirius had a smirk on his face and Lily glared at him which didn't do much to Sirius' cocky demeanour. She really couldn't stand the Marauders, except for perhaps Remus, although she couldn't understand what he was doing hanging out with the other idiots.

"Where is what Evans?" Sirius said, his smirk still plastered on his features. Usually Lily didn't act like this, more often than not she was better at ignoring people, but there was just something about the Marauders that drove her up the wall. "Lost something?"

"You bloody git! Give me the Time-Turner I know you have it, Potter!" Lily yelled, glaring at the boy in front of her. Her green eyes meeting his hazel.

"Oh, you mean this?" James said pulling out the golden Time-Turner from his pocket. Before Lily knew what she was doing, she was charging straight at him. James was surprised by the young witch's attack and without thinking, he ran in the opposite direction. It was odd, Lily was usually the more rational of the pair and James couldn't stop a gulp as he looked back at the fiery redhead.

"James Potter you give me that back you git!" Lily yelled as she chased after the Potter boy. James stopped running from the young witch and decided to run back to his friends. As he reached his friends Lily Evans collided with him and he stumbled and fell. He could feel the time turner being crushed as he hit the ground. The metal pieces fell apart in his hand. James immediately let go of the pieces as it started to heat up, something James was pretty sure it wasn't supposed to do. He looked down at his hand and saw that it had turned a bright red from the sudden heat.

"Well, that's not good," Sirius stated as he looked at the broken Time-Turner, it seemed to be glowing as it lifted into the air and was spinning, just as it did when you were travelling back in time. Before anyone could say anything else the light intensified and there was a bright flash before everyone was overcome with a bright spinning sensation that took over the Gryffindors.

It felt as though they were being lifted in the air and that they were simply weightless before that came crashing down. Quite literally.

The young witch and wizards were disoriented, to say the least, Lily was the first to recover however and soon was standing over the four Marauders who were groaning and complaining and Lily couldn't help but roll her eyes but she was quickly overcome with rage at the raven-haired boy and his hooligan friends.
