Raw fear coursed through him, was he going to live? James had never truly thought about what was going to happen to him. James always thought he was going to make it out of there alive, he never truly thought of the danger he was in, his father had told stories of the war and how others had died. Then it came to him, maybe what he was meant to do was change time. He decided at that very moment that he was going to change the past, the past where many people died. The first person he was going to save was Sirius Black.

It was finally time for the DA meeting as Harry rushed down under his cloak with Ron and James under his with Hermione, this way they didn't have to crowd together and they were covered better. They were the first to arrive at the room of requirement but before long more and more DA people started flooding in. James knew their was nothing he could do about them going to the Department of Mysteries because they needed to destroy the Prophecy before Voldemort heard it. However, in the Department of Mysteries there was only enough Death Eaters per person that means if everyone who went the first person plus him their wouldn't be enough Death eaters. James lost his train of thought when Harry started the meeting.

"Today we are going to be learning two new spells, they are actually two very new spells that James made," Harry explained looking to James who nodded and picked up where Harry left off.
"Yes, so the first spell is like the Dark mark and it launches into the air but instead it's a Pheonix so I figured we could use it sometimes. The second one is more important, it's Stupify and Expelliarmus all at once," James continued looking around at everyone. "The incantation is Expellify, for the first one it's Phoerdre. Here I'll show you."
James walked over to one of the stone statues of a wizard and removed his hand from his robe pocket and aimed it at the statue before yelling. 'Expellify' The stone wand flew right out of the statues grip and clattered lightly to the floor as the statue flew backwards as it too clattered to the floor. Not turning to look at the others he raised his wand and pointed at the ceiling, he quietly muttered Phoerdre and above him a large phoenix spread through the open air. The group clapped and James turned back around to the group and walked back over to Harry. What Harry said next truly took James Sirius Potter off guard.
"Now James and I are going to duel," Harry stated walking to a section reserved for dueling.
"Where doing what?" James asked following him none the less.
"We are dueling, it's been requested by multiple people throughout the meetings and I think we should do it," Harry answered as they got ready for the duel. They both got out their wands and bowed. Neither wanted to fire the first spell so they wouldn't be caught of guard but after about ten seconds Harry yelled Expelliarmus, his go to spell and that's exactly what James had been expecting and he simply yelled Protego.
"Rictosempra!" James yelled as Harry prepared to cast again. It hit Harry square in the chest and he hunched over laughing. The spell wore off quickly and Harry readied his wand once more.
"Expelliarmus!" James simply cast Protego once more and the spell was blocked.
"Honestly, try to be anymore predictable," James said with a laugh. James cast Wingardium Leviosa non-Verbally and it hit Harry once more he floated up in the air but he could still access his wand and yelled, "Stupify."
James was sent flying backwards just like the statue had a few minutes previously. He straightened back up and removed the charm from Harry which left him spiraling back down to the ground. Harry landed with a thump and James readied his wand again. James started casting a nonverbal spell which turned out to be Levicorpus. Harry flew up in the air by his foot and James grinned. James didn't expect the next spell at all and in turn he didn't have time to block it. 'Petrificus Totallus.' James locked together but Harry was still in the air upside down. James mumbled the counter curse as his hand was on his wand and the magical binding keeping him there disappeared.
"Why don't we call it a match?" Harry mumbled as all the blood rushed to his head, he had never heard of the spell before so it caught him of guard.
"Why don't we leave it to a vote?" James asked as he waved his wand gently dropping Harry to the ground where he sat for a moment before standing up.
"Deal."
