Nineteen

Ethan POV

I laid in bed staring at the ceiling, in the dark.

My hand stung a little from all the cuts but it didn't really bother me. Pain is temporary so why waste time dwelling on it.

What I was really concentrating on was Maya. Maybe I was overreacting earlier, it could've just been a friendly thing, right? Even if they keep going I'd have to give her up. As much as I want and need her I can't let a girl come in between me and my brother.

But I really do need maya she makes me a better person. She makes me want to be a better person. Hell, dinner was the first time I've laughed in a while even if it was just a chuckle. Usually when I'm torturing I have no remorse, but now all I can think is what would Maya think of this. I need her, I love her.

My door opened revealing Harold, our butler.

"Mr.Ethan (A/N 😏😂)" he held his hands behind his back.

"Yes Harold" I sat up in bed slipping on a shirt.

"Mr.Grace would like to see you in his office" he informed me before disappearing into the hall.

I got out of bed groaning. What could Arthur possibly want at 1 a.m.

I got to his office and the guys were already there, they all looked extremely tired except for Arthur who had a stern look.

"Now that you're all here we can begin. I just received this video" he clicked a button on a control panel making a flat screen tv come out of the wall.

The video was poor quality but it was clear enough to see. There was a man wearing an all black mask with a lot of men behind him also wearing masks.

"Hey there" the man talked in a teasing way. "I'm Rico Salvo" he took off the mask revealing those infamous blue eyes. "Tomorrow I'll be coming to your estate to take all that is yours, and you'll gladly surrender. Or I'll kill you all slowly and painfully, starting with your daughter; I wonder what her pain tolerance is" he put his hand under his chin pretending to think.

This man was clearly insane the entire time he spoke he had this menacing smile on his face; he's like the fucking joker.

"So we'll see you tomorrow at noon, toodle oo" he waved creepily before the camera panned out revealing a shit ton of more men who all had weapons ranging from hand guns to bazookas.

This is bad, this is really bad.

"We'll have to send the girls out earlier, I'll call in more men to back us. We'll take them down" Arthur was trying to be confident but I know this man he's nervous we've never gone against a group this big, it was definitely going to be a challenge.

"You're all dismissed" he waved us away before we filed out. Usually I'm certain about things like this but not this time. So i might as well risk it all if there's a chance I'll lose it.

I quietly entered Maya's room making sure I didn't stumble or bump into anything. I gently sat down next to her softly cupping her cheek. I leaned in pressing a soft kiss against her plump lips. When I pulled away her eyes fluttered open.

"Ethan?" She sat up confused. "What-" I cut her off by placing my pointer finger against her lips.

"I love you maya, I have for a while and it's killing me seeing you pine after my brother. He can't give you what I can. I know I have my demons and I do bad things, but I can give you my all. I can give you a healthy relationship, I can love you; not just in private but everywhere. I'll make you feel like the princess you are. I need you maya" I held her hands and gazed into her eyes meaning every word.

"I just had to let you know that" I placed a long sweet kiss on her forehead before leaving.

Maya POV

Last night was kind of a blur. I remember waking up to Ethan, him telling me he loves and needs me. I honestly don't know what to think about that.

I mean I'm trying to get rid of my feelings for Grayson, I cant even imagine developing feelings for someone else.

This morning he wasn't even at the car to see us off. Tyler told me he was doing inventory on weapons but I think that's all bull. I really wanted to say goodbye or at least see him.

"Maya, you ok?" Lily rubbed my shoulder.

"Yeah" I shrugged.

"You sure you've been looking out that window like you're in a sad music video" she smiled making me giggle.

"Just got a lot on my mind" I shrugged. She gave me a small smile.

"It's going to be fine, the guys will get rid of the threat and we will be back home before-" I don't know what happened I felt a huge impact and the next thing I know the car is upside down.

"Lily?" I shake her limp body. "Lily!"

"Mommy!" Emma's cries fill the car. I struggle out of my seatbelt feeling a sharp pain in my leg, I look down seeing a large shard of glass in it.

"Emma, honey it's ok" I tried calming her down. "It's all gonna be ok" I looked around to see if anyone else was awake but they were all knocked out.

"Mom? Mom?" I tried crawling over to her but my leg wouldn't let me. Is that- I smelled the air.

Shit it's gas.

"Emma honey can you hear me?" I asked as I did my best to pry open the door.

"Yes" she cried.

"I need you to come here ok?"

"Okay" she got out of her car seat crawling over to me. By then I had opened the door. I let her get out first before crawling out myself.

"Go Wait by the tree, ok baby?" I signaled towards a tree a few feet away in the field.

"What about mommy?" She sniffled.

"I'm getting her now just go" I turned back around but my leg started gushing blood making me groan loudly. I have to suck it up and go back for the girls.

I felt my hair being pulled harshly making me fall back.

"Remember me!" I looked into those blue eyes before I felt a sharp pain on my head making everything go black.
