JOSHUA ULEY I, WASN'T THE TYPE OF MAN TO KID AROUND AND THAT NIGHT HE WAS FURIOUS. Josh had master the art of pissing his father off before he was even able to speak, it was just something he was naturally gifted at. Though it did help that his father had a very short temper. Even so, Josh knew that there was something very different about tonight compared to other occasions where his father had gotten pissed off. The man was so furious he didn't speak a single word to his son the whole car ride home. Josh knew something had to be bad if his father was passing up an opportunity to yell at him.

Still, no words had been spoken between the two males as they entered the seemingly empty house. Walking through the main entrance and past the living room, Josh caught a glimpse of her. She was sitting on the couch peacefully, her right leg crossed over her left one, her shoulders back and her back straight, even so, her body seemed relaxed. Her face was delicate, heart-shaped, her skin was light caramel colour which paired along beautifully with her radiant brown hair. The woman was a beautiful sight to see even in her early forties.
"Mom?" The boy rose his eyebrows in confusion, he was surprised as to why his mother was even here. Why she'd been sitting there casually looking at the television when he knew for a fact she hated watching tv. Josh made his way over to his mother but stopped when her hazel eyes looked into his brown ones. The way she stared at him like she was unpeeling the secrets of his existence and starring into his soul.
"Joshua, why did you do it?" her voice was calm, quiet and yet the tone of disappointment was able to fill the room. Josh broke eye contact with her unable to look at her disappointed expression any longer. "Your father is furious."
Just as she'd finished her sentence a loud bang came from upstairs. The mother and son pair shared a confused, yet worried expression as they walked out of the living room towards the staircase. There they saw Joshua Uley I throwing suitcases full of quickly packed clothing and more of Josh's things.
