SAM ULEY THOUGHT HE'D BEEN RIDE OF HIS FATHER A LONG TIME AGO. The name Joshua Uley had been but a distant memory, something of his past he dared not revisit. After all, his father had left him and his mother when he was very young, had forced him to grow up faster than any kid should ever have to do. Sam hated his father for a while, and there were times where that hate still boiled inside him, but for the most part, it was gone. For the most part, he felt nothing for his father, however, now at this very moment he was going to have to face the disappointments of his past. Now, he had a living embodiment of his father, who even shared the man's name; he had a brother.

Sam sat on the stairs of his own home with his head in his hands, while his...brother, was left alone in the living room. Sam had felt obligated to let him inside, to at least hear him out. The young man rubbed his face before he looked up and glanced over at the living room. He saw Joshua looking around the unfamiliar setting. At the moment he was thankful that Emily was away visiting her family. He knew that this was a situation he needed to handle on his own.

"So do you have food in this place?" Josh's voice snapped the young man out of his thoughts. Sam glanced over to see Josh staring right at him, hands still in his pockets looking as nonchalant as ever.

'He's young.'

Sam thought to himself as he watched the boy. Something about Joshua's young age made Sam feel happy or rather thankful, that he's father hadn't just had another kid right after he'd left his mother.

"Well?" Josh's voice rang in his ears again. Sam got up from sitting on the steps, he couldn't just hide there forever. It wasn't fair to the boy.

"Emily left some food in the fridge," Sam spoke. Joshua nodded, he didn't feel the need to ask Sam who 'Emily' was, because it wasn't any of his business. Also, he didn't care that much if he was being honest with himself, he hadn't come here to be buddy-buddy with his half-brother, he just needed a place to crash for a while, while his father calmed the hell down.

Joshua opened the fridge and saw a bunch of pre-baked food, there was an entire feast in here. He glanced over at Sam before looking back into the fridge. Sam was a big guy, but this Emily person didn't think he could eat this much, did she? It was a bit excessive.

"So, your name's Joshua?" Sam said the first thing that popped into his head. Josh clenched a container of cooked chicken before he stood up and shut the fridge door.
