~HANS~

It's been three days since Queen Elsa has fallen ill, the days seem longer and darker. Anna has taken over for the time being and I've been taken back to my cell. I didn't fight off the guards like I thought I would of, but I thought it would have been best just to except my punishment. My cell remains guard less, all thanks to Kai. He's been truly kind to me and doesn't see me as a prisoner. He's delivered all my meals and updates me on the Queens condition. She's not doing very well, she hasn't even woken since she fell into slumber.

I couldn't help but hope she'd wake up soon, I miss having her deliver my meals, I miss seeing her face...

~ELSA~

Darkness, it's all I see. I'm not frightened by it, just annoyed. I haven't seen light in I don't know how long, yet I have the slightest feeling I never will again. I've had thoughts of my condition, I feel as though I am dead. The only thing stopping me from thinking such an obscured thing is my breathing.

Slowly, I begin to feel the warmth of my hands again, my feet, my entire body to be exact. Excitement runs through me, I'm alive.

My eyes heavily open, and I'm faced with the ceiling of my room. I feel the throbbing of my head and wince in pain. How long has it been? I open my mouth to speak but my throat feels dry, it's useless. I need help... please let someone come in here. Just then, it's as if my prayers were answered, the door to my room opens and I watch my dear sister enter.

"Anna!" I'm surprised at myself, only a moment ago, my voice was useless, but now I speak.

"Elsa?" It seems as though Anna is surprised to see me awake. "Elsa! You're awake, oh, thank goodness!" Anna runs towards my side and grabs my hand, she smiles. "Oh Elsa, you had us all worried sick! We thought you'd never wake up..." It seems though Anna can't continue, I wouldn't blame her.

"Of course I would wake up, how long was I out?" My head throbs even more, I lift my hand to my forehead and fire meets the coldness of my hand, I must have a fever.

Anna's eyes sadden, she looks worried and frightened. "Elsa... You've been out for a week now." My eyes widen at her response. A week?! That can't be, I don't even remember what happened...

"Elsa? Ar- are you okay?" Anna's voice shakes, I look to see the reason why. She's surrounded by snow, my curse has consumed me. I move my hand up towards Anna and swipe the snow away from her, she resumes her original position as the temperature returns to normal.

"Yes, I'm fine, but what happened?" I couldn't get my mind to focus, they last thing I remember is returning to my room after spending the evening with Anna, then my head... it felt weak.

"Well, you see... we don't really know." I narrow my eyes in confusion, Anna must see my confused expression so she continues. "Kai and myself had found you, we were worried sick. We had thought you had just fainted, but after you hadn't waken for two days, we called a doctor." She pauses before continuing. "The doctor examined you but found nothing unusual about you, but he will return to Arendelle once he does some research." Anna continues to look at me with worry, I wouldn't blame her. I mean, who wouldn't be if there sister had been out for a week without waking up? It's unheard of.

"Anna, it's alright. I'm fine now, see?" I sit up the best I can without wincing, but fail terribly. Anna's worried expression only deepens. She places her hand against my back and helps me sit up properly.

"Elsa... it's obvious that something's wrong." I take in her words and wonder why my condition has affected Anna more than it has to me. I should be more concerned, more eager to understand what's wrong with me, yet I feel nothing. I'm only worried for Anna, she's obviously bothered by the situation... I feel truly awful for bringing this upon my sister. I feel like... I feel like I don't even matter.

"Anna, you don't have to worry about me. I'm fine, now... what happened while I was... sick?" I don't even know what to call the condition I'm in, it's not yet known. Anna averts her gaze away from me, I know that since I was unable to follow through with my obligations, Anna would have had to take over for the time being.

"Well, I did as Kai told me, he taught me all your duties... I filed all paperwork and trading offers. I also visited the village quite often to associate with our people." Anna smiles at me sweetly, I'm sure that she loved visiting the town's people, she hasn't really been able to over the years. She's been locked away from the world... from me, because of me. The thought makes my head ache even more. Poor Anna.

"Umm, there's something else..." I look at Anna with confusion and worry. Anna doesn't seem like she's okay with sharing what she is about to tell me. To make it easier, I smile and nod for her to continue. Anna smiles back but it doesn't reach her eyes, she seems troubled.

"Well... you see, umm... You remember Hans right?" I glare at her for two reasons, one being for saying his name, and second for thinking that my illness had caused me to lose my memory, of course I know who he is. I know very well who he is, I also remember our encounter in the dungeon. That encounter had left me troubled, his words so clear and fresh... "It was the trolls!" The thing is, those weren't the words that bothered me the most... "I LOVED HER"... had he really? No... yes? I know that I shouldn't believe anything that comes out of that monsters... man's mouth. Everyone makes mistake, even me, I almost killed my sister.

"Yes Anna, I know very well who he is." Anna nods but still looks troubled, lost for words. "Anna?"

"Okay, you have to promise me you won't... freak out?" I look at Anna with annoyance.

"Anna, seriously. What's wrong?"

"No Elsa, I'm not saying anything until yo-"

"Fine! I promise." I didn't have the energy for Anna to finish, so I just decided to give her what she wanted. Anna looks at me with more ease as she continues to speak.

"Okay, well a couple days after you... fainted. He... umm, well he... umm... escaped" My eyes widened in horror.

"WHA-" Anna quickly places her hand over my mouth.

"Elsa, would you please let me finish..." Although I haven't put up any fight, Anna's hand still remains on my mouth. "He escaped, and he came to see you." My eyes, yet again, widen in fear. He came to see me? Although I'd like to say something, I know it would only anger Anna so I let her continue. She does, "He came to see you and see how you were doing, Kai and myself told him that we really didn't know so I had the guards send him back to his cell..." Anna removes her hand from my mouth, yet I have no words to speak. He had come to see me?

Me? Why didn't he try to escape, he could have done it after all... Anna's words confuse me. Why would he stay?

"Elsa...?" I look at my sister.

"Yes?" I reply.

"You should get some rest... well, I know you probably don't need it since you've been out for a week, but I think you should at least try." I nod, she's right. Although, I have been out for a while, I feel exhausted. Anna gently lies me down and pulls the covers back into place, before she walks away she leans over and kisses my head.

I watch as Anna walks towards the doorway and turns my direction again. "I will inform every one that you have woken," I nod, and turn on my side, before I drift to slumber, Anna whispers "Also, you should have seen his face Elsa, he looked so worried. It was like... he cared about you." Before I could turn towards the door I hear the soft click of it closing.

Although she hadn't said his name, I knew who she was taking about... Hans.
