~ELSA~
"Wha- hat?" I couldn't speak. He loves me? Me? I look at Hans and expect him to laugh and say he was joking, that he didn't mean it, but he says nothing. "Hans, you don't mean that."
"Oh, but I do... I'm in love with you." Hans presses his forehead against the door, and sighs. He has to be joking.
"No, your lying." I try and break free of his grasp but he holds on tightly.
"Elsa, I never meant to hurt you. I came here to see you again."
"No you di- wait, did you say again?" Again? Came to see me again? How can that be when we've never even met... unless.
"Hansel?" Hans looks down, then back at me, he looks as if he's troubled with what to say. Finally he just nods. What!?
"No, you can't be Hansel. He... he left and... he, no you can't be him!"
"Elsa, it's me, Hansel."
*flashback*
It's winter time, the whole town covered in snow. I didn't bother wearing a coat, the cold never bothered me anyway.
I walk toward the fjord to enjoy the frozen over sea, I always love gazing at the beautiful frozen surface. It's still early, so not too many people are in the main village today. Before reaching the fjord, I notice something, a boy. He looks to be around my age, maybe a year or two older. He stands alone next to the small towns market, he's focused on the frozen sea with admiration in his eyes.
His red hair gleams bright in the sunlight that has just began to rise, and although I can't see his eyes very well, I know they gleam as well.
I begin to walk towards him, as future Queen, it's my jobs to become familiar with all the people in my kingdom, and I've never seen this boy before.
I stop a few feet away from him, yet the young boy doesn't notice me, not until I ever so gently clear my throat. The young boys head turns to me, and I get a better view of him. His eyes are a dark green, almost emerald like, his face is well shaped, he will grow up to be handsome.
"Hello." I say in the sweetest voice I can muster. "I'm Elsa, may I ask who you are?"
The boy smiles, and extends his hand.
"Hello, my name is Hansel, Hansel Westergaard."
*end of flashback*
I stare at Hans in shock, Hansel? No, he couldn't be, Hansel was a sweet young boy who was kind to me, he was a friend.
Hans is a cruel man who almost killed me for power, although he swears he didn't do it, I don't believe him. How can you not mean to kill someone?
Hans arms still remain firmly around me, securing me. I need to get out, I need to escape and find Anna.
"No, your not Hansel. He's not cruel and selfish like you... he was kind, a friend. Your nothing like him." Hans looks hurt by my words, but I don't care... this man tried to kill me.
"Elsa, it's me. I'm still that boy you met next to the fjord, right by the little market in town." Hans takes one hand and places it on my cheek. "It's me little snowflake."
I look into the cruel mans eyes, and I see it, I see the young boy who was kind, who was my friend.
"Hansel?" Hans nods his head. "Oh my gosh, Hansel!" I place my hand through the opening of the door and place my hand on his cheek... he leans into my hand and I allow him. Although I still see the cruel man that I still fear, he's the boy who showed me kindness, that gave me a friendship. "How? When? Oh, gosh... Hansel, I though I'd never see you again."
Hans smiles into my palm and leaves a small kiss on my knuckles.
The gesture sends a shiver down my spin, his lips are warm and gentle.
"Hans..." I say softly. He looks up at me and smiles, although I want to retreat my hand.. I can't bring myself to do so. I've missed Hansel so much.
After Hansel left back to his kingdom, I was left alone with my sister, and not too long after I was forced to shut her out, in fear that I would endanger her life... again.
I had tried and contact him, but Hansel hadn't told me which kingdom he was from, I lost all hope of seeing him again. Now... he's here, as a prisoner and traitor of Arendelle.
"Why didn't you write me?" Hans asks.
"You never really told me anything about you, how come you never told me you were from the Southern Isles? Let alone a prince?" Hans looks to the floor, then back at me.
"I didn't think it was important." I roll my eyes in annoyance.
"Well it is, it's very important. Hans... I couldn't write you, I didn't even know where you were from!"
"I know that, and I apologize." Hans' eyes show sincerity, and I believe that he's sorry. I remember how heartbroken I was when he left. He was my only friend, of course I had my sister, but he was the only other person that I could play with... and talk to. "Elsa, you have to believe that I would never hurt you, please." Hans' eyes begin to water, he grasps my hand even tighter. I sigh in defeat... I'm starting to believe him.
"Hans... please. Don't lie to me." Although I can't help but begin to believe him, I still don't trust him. I need to keep my guard up, I can't allow for him to break my heart once more.
"I'm not lying to you, my love. I'm so sorry, I would never hurt you. You don't know how hard it was to watch myself hurt you, and... almost..." He can't finish his words. My love? Although I don't feel comfortable with him calling me that, I don't say anything. I allow it.
"Okay." Is all I say, I don't want him to think that I completely believe him. I take my hand away from his face, but before I can pull it away Hans grabs it and holds on for dear life.
"No, please, stay." I widen my eyes, did he think I was going to leave. I couldn't, he still has his other arm firmly around my waist. If anyone were to see us right now, they would think that we were a couple... desperate to be with each other.
"Hans, I can't really go anywhere when you have me pinned to the door like this." Hans looks confused, but then looks down at his arm that he has around my waist. He smiles and removes his arm, but when he does, the cold air of the prison air hits the part of my body his warm grasp was holding.
Although it doesn't bother me, I can't help but think of Hans. He must be freezing.
"Oh, Hans. How come you never told Kai or I that it was so cold down here, you must be freezing at night!"
"I didn't think I deserved anything, I thought that you would like for me to suffer..." His words surprise me, although I have a hate for him, I wouldn't want to see him suffer.
"That's nonsense! I'll have Kai go and bring you blankets." I couldn't believe he had to suffer through the harsh cold. Sure it was nice and warm outside from the summer weather, but in the dungeon... it's always been cold.
Hans nods his head in understanding, but says nothing else.
"Hans...." He looks at me, waiting. "I really have to go." I try and pull my arm away but he holds on tightly. "Hans, please." Hans hesitates for a moment then releases my hand.
I begin to walk away, but stopped with Hans' words.
"You forgot the tray little snowflake." I smile at my nickname, and turn back to retrieve the tray. Once I have the tray, I look at Hans and smile, which he gladly returns.
"Hans?"
"Hmm?
"I'll be back tomorrow, but for now... goodbye little Hansel."
And with that I leave.
