Chapter 4
"What? How come?"
"The Morgans are in a hospital right now but.. the prince is well." Hazy said, observing my expression. I just showed her my poker face.
"He probably asked his members to open the bag. Crap." A part of me felt horrible that my plan didn't go as I expected. Although I knew I succeeded in scaring off the Morgan. They wouldn't bother us anymore. And the other part—the part that should be long buried—was feeling an unwanted relief.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Are you relieved?" Panunukso nya tsaka nya tinaas baba ang kaniyang kilay.
"I am disappointed." I said.
"But a part of you is relieved that he's safe?" She asked, hopefully.
"He's an enemy, why will I be relieved?
Made in China kasi yang buhok mo, sa akin original.
Hindi ko iyon binulalas. I had a strict rule for myself that whenever I was infront of my people, I should always be formal.
As a leader, you should always be a friend to your people. But there should also be boundaries. They should know that at some point, you are still superior to them.
I could be a friend to them, I could always lend a hand if they needed me. But they should also know the responsibility that they possessed, the loyalty that they should give to the Safronov, they should know that we had boundaries.
You will always be welcome, Hazy." I sincerely said.
"After what happened to the Tenebrous palace," Bumaba ang tingin niya sa sahig. "I don't know if I could still stand the sight of blood."
