Chapter 10

The president laughed devilishly as the monitor in front showed Laura Callisha Safronov fighting with McAkiro Morgan over a trash bin... like a child. The president's head moved from side to side, showing extreme disappointment. See? If it was not McAkiro Morgan, the queen would have shoot a bullet in his heart without thinking twice. But because he was McAkiro Morgan, she was willing to look like a fool pulling a trash bin like a child instead of fighting him like what a bad ass queen should do.

"President, the Lurid and Vermillion agents are ready to attack the queen now, should I tell them to proceed?" Cole asked, his eyes was set on the monitor in front of the president. They were in the new headquarters of Lurid and Vermillion. A place that even the queen didn't know. Would never know. Simply because she was too stupid to know.

For a girl with a high IQ, she was just too stupid. Stupid enough that she didn't recognize a trap when it was put in front of her.

"Do it, but make sure the ones who will attack her are the weakest. I want her to win, give her the false security of knowing that she defeated her enemies." The president leaned back on the seat. Thighs wide open, the right ankle was rested on the left knee. A pose that would put the male models to shame.

"Don't you think she would know our plan? Laura Callisha Safronov is the queen of strategies and traps. She's too powerful to let us play her in the palms of our hands." Cole said, doubt was etched in his face. Like he really believed that Callisha Safronov was indestructible, invulnerable. But the president knew that Cole said that not because he cared for the queen, but because he was afraid to be beaten by the queen.

The president was observant, watchful. Always looking for a possible ally, for a possible asset. That was when the president saw Cole.

Isang hapon ay nakita niyang pinapagalitan ng reyna si Cole dahil may mali itong ginawa. Nakayuko lamang si Cole, tahimik na nakikinig sa sermon ng reyna habang humihingi ng tawad. In the eyes of others, it seemed like he was really sorry for his mistakes. But if you would observe deeply, his eyes had a spark of rebellion in them, like he didn't want to be corrected. Like he hated being criticized.

In the eyes of Queen Callisha, there was anger there, together with love, and care. She was criticizing Cole not because she hated him for being wrong, but because she wanted him to learn. She wanted him to realize his mistakes. Like a mother disciplining her beloved child.

But Cole didn't see any of those things because he was busy being annoyed with the queen. For him, Queen Callisha was correcting him because she wanted to humiliate him. She wanted to punish him—like the way Queen Callisha punished Sheila, his dearest friend. Queen Callisha locked his dear friend in a jail house because Sheila stole important documents from the palace.

And that when the president knew that Cole could be an ally. The president would always talk to Cole that no one should criticized him, that no one should correct him. That no one should treat him like he was someone inferior. In that way, Cole started to harbor hatred to Callisha Safronov. The president didn't care if the queen was correcting Cole out of love, what important was Cole didn't see it that way. Cole see corrections as a symbol that people didn't trust his abilities.

"If Callisha Safronov is really smart, then bakit hindi niya nalaman na traydor ka, Cole?" Naningkit ang kaniyang mga mata sa binatang nasa harapan niya. Kumunot ang noo ni Cole na para bang hindi niya gustong masabihan ng traydor. Cole hated criticism, whether helpful criticism or not, he hated them. "She trusts you, Cole. You've been in her service for years. She even trust you with her life. If she's smart, she would have seen your true color by now, but she didn't."
