(Y/n)'s POV

~Some time later~

I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. Len had given me some dry clothes to change into. I had just finished a shower.

It was already dark so everyone had gone home. As for me...I still needed to figure out how to deal with Michiko. It was clear that she wasn't going to leave my brother alone.

*sigh* I seriously didn't get why she wanted Haku-nii back so badly. They broke up because of her and now she wanted to get back together? Tch, she didn't deserve him. He was definitely too good for her.

But I couldn't exactly let her tell the police about his drug dealing. Damn it! I felt so stupid! Haku-nii always managed to do something for me so why couldn't I do the same for him?...

"(Y/n)."

I jumped up and covered my mouth to prevent myself from screaming. Len just raised an eyebrow before sitting down.

"You should've knocked. You scared me."
"I did but you weren't answering," he replied casually.
"But still, at least make some noise when you walk."
"Why are you still here?"
"Because I can be. You're not kicking me out so why not?"
"(Y/n), there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it?"

I looked up at him. He looked serious...well, he always looked serious but this time, it was different. I sat up with worry.

He seemed a little pale, or maybe I was just imagining it. Omg, was he sick? Did he catch a cold while we were playing earlier?

"Len-"

I was cut off as he crashed his lips against mine. I blinked a few times before realising what had just happened.

Len...was kissing me. I could feel my heartbeat grow faster and faster as well as my cheeks heating up. Despite my nervousness and embarrassment, I kissed back.

This must be a dream, right? This cannot be happening in real life. Len never showed any hint of liking me back so it couldn't be true.

"(Y/n), I like you. I've liked you for as long as I can remember," he exclaimed without looking away.
"...wait, this isn't a dream, right?"
"No, silly. Why would it be a dream?"

I wrapped my arms around him. He fell back onto the bed as I did and smiled when I looked at him.

"You know, you're actually quite strong despite how you look," he stated.
"Is that supposed to be a compliment?"
"If you want to take it as one."
"Well, I don't really care."

He flipped us around so that he was on top. *blush* Before I could do anything, he leaned down and kissed me again. I couldn't help but smile into the kiss, making him pull away.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes! You have no idea how much I have wanted to hear those words."

Len just smiled and lay down beside me. His hand reached for mine and we stayed like that for a while, forgetting everything that had happened. It was peaceful.

My phone started ringing, which made me reluctantly get up and grab it from the table. It was from Haku-nii. I answered the call, expecting him to ask where I was...but it was Michiko that spoke.

"Hey (Y/n), how are you?"
"Where's Haku-nii?"
"Don't worry, I would never do anything to hurt him."
"Yeah, right."
"Drop the sarcasm, I'm telling the truth."
"What do you want?"
"Have you decided yet?"
"There's still time."
"Well, hurry up. I'm getting a little impatient."
"Just wait, I'll give you an answer soon."
"You better or else I'll take him by force."

She hung up. I had to clench my fists to stop myself from letting anger take over. Len gave me a worried look. I managed to give him a forced smile before sitting down.

Len's POV

Michiko must've said something to (Y/n). She wouldn't have looked so angry otherwise. I couldn't do anything except pull her into a hug.

Geez, why did I feel so pathetic? I wanted to do something for her. I wanted to make her feel better but I didn't know what to do.

~Flashback~

"Come on, Len. Hurry up," exclaimed (Y/n).
"We still have time before the performance starts."
"But I want to get there early."

It was only a simple performance. What was so exciting about seeing my parents perform? It wasn't anything out of the ordinary...

"Isn't this so exciting? Your parents always look so glamorous while playing their instruments together," she exclaimed happily.
"How can you see that?"
"Hmm? How can you not?"

I pondered about it as we sat down in our VIP seats. I would never be able to catch up to my parents...they were like an obstacle that I could not overcome. It was so hard to find playing the violin enjoyable...

Everyone always expected great things from me ever since I was able to play the violin. All those stupid expectations...that was the only reason I didn't quit.

As I looked over at (Y/n)'s bright smile, I began to doubt myself. Did I really hate the violin like I say I do? Or was I just deluded into thinking that?...

"Len, it's starting!"

I could only give her a small smile as the curtains drew back.

~Flashback end~

(Y/n) had fallen asleep. Her steady breathing and closed eyes said so. I couldn't help but move her hair out of the way. Tears had dried up on her cheeks, making her look a little unwell.

I lay her down and put the blanket over her fragile body. The rain had started to bang loudly against the windows again. *sigh* Would the skies ever become clear or would it remain gloomy to match our uncertainties?...
