Chapter 10 - Shape Shifting and Scaring Simon

It was Saturday morning and I had awoken to Josh walking into my room.

"Dani, you awake?" Josh whispered

"I am now Josh, what time is it?" I yawned

"It's 10am, Simon and Vikk have both left and Simon won't be back for a few hours. I told him I was feeling sick and wasn't up for football." Josh replied

"Okay then, lemme get up and dressed and I'll meet you in your room." I yawned again

Josh nodded as he closed my door and walked down to his own room. I got up, walking to the bathroom to brush my teeth and brush my hair, leaving it down for today. I decided to wear some SDMN black joggers and a sports bra considering I was only chilling in the house today. Once I had gotten ready, I made my way down the hall to Josh's room, knocking on his door as I got there.

"Come in D!" Josh shouted as I made my way into the room.

"Well then, where do we start? What do we do to figure this out?" I asked

"I don't know. We know that I can hear people's thoughts, we need to figure out what you can do, if you can do anything that is." Josh said sitting down in his chair.

"Well, here's what we do. Today, we try figure out what the hell I can do. Then we need to arrange to see David because he gave you that ring so he must know where it came from and something about it. And then I'll go through everything that I kept from mum and see if there's anything to do with these gems." I said to Josh

"Okay Dani, well, lets see if we can figure out your power then. Also, he's your dad too, you don't need to call him David you know." Josh said

I starred at Josh, and rolled my eyes. I stood there trying to figure out what this so called power of mine was. For hours we stayed in his room, me trying to read his mind, control objects in his room, see if I could see into the future and it was all useless.

"Josh, this isn't working." I sighed sitting on his back

"I know D, but we need to keep trying. That necklace must do something to you." Josh said sitting next to me.

"I know Josh, I know. It's just hard and stressful you know." I sighed once more

Just then Josh received a text.

"It's Simon, he's on his way home and he said he's gonna pick up Nando's."

"Shit, what time is it?" I questioned

"It's 5:30." Josh replied

"Damn, we've been doing this for around 6 hours Josh. What do we tell Simon we've been doing today?" I asked

"Lets just go downstairs and put the tv and say we've been watching movies or whatever and having a chill day." He said standing up

"Alright then." I replied

We left Josh's room and walked down to the living room. Josh turned the tv on and set up Netflix whilst I got us both some drinks and blankets to make it look like we've been there all day.

"IM HOME WITH FOOD!" I heard Simon shout

"In here!" Josh shouted back

Simon walked in with bags of food to see me and Josh laying on the sofa with blankets over us.

"Had a nice day?" He asked

"Yeah." Josh and I both replied in unison

"Well, I got us all Nando's." Simon said walking into the kitchen.

Josh got up and followed Simon into the kitchen as did I. We plated our food up and all walked back into the living room. Simon joined me under the blanket as Josh lay under his own on the other end of the sofa. Josh put on an episode of Family Guy to watch as we ate our food.
