Usually, after school Jack would rush home to see his rarely sober mother which he craved so very much. But not today.
The teen had no idea where his mother or stepfather are and hasn't seen them for two days.
The pair went to parties every night and always got drunk; Jack had lost count of the amount of times he had woken up in the middle of the night and has had to help them into bed.
His older sister acted as a parent to him but once she went off to college, he was all alone.
He slowly trudged his way back to the house. He could hear two pairs of footsteps behind him but didn't bother to look back and see who it was.
He arrived at the empty house and made his way to his bedroom as soon as he entered. He sat on his bed and put his head in his hands.
**Trigger warning**
"They don't love me," he thought to himself. "They don't care. No one cares. I don't deserve to be here. The world will be better without me. No one will care. Every one will be happy. I should go."
He stood up and walked to his Chesg of draws, opening the second one down , taking out his pen knife.
He pulled up his sleeve and pressed the blade onto his skin.
One cut for being useless.
One cut for being mute.
One cut for being a disappointment.
One cut for being a bad son.
One cut for being gay.
He took in the pain of each cut, letting the blood run freely down his wrist. Silent tears were falling from his eyes. He traced his old scars, all of which are now covered in blood.
He walked into the bathroom, careful to not drip any blood on the cream carpet on the way.
He turned the Tap on and proceeded to clean his cuts and placed a bandage on his wrist.
He walked back into his room, laying on his bed. He took the picture on his bedside and held it to his heart.
"I Love you, dad." He whispered.
His thoughts drifted back to his mother and stepfather. He needed to tell someone.
Jack opened his cupboard and took his Mobile phone which he never used down from the shelf and powered it on. He clicked on the only contact he had programmed into his phone and sent a message to the contact, hoping for at quick response.
