******a week later*******

Shivering, I wrap my coat tighter around my body as I dig for my car keys. It's a Monday morning and no matter how miserable I may be, I have a job that I have to go to if I want money to feed my Starbucks addiction.

Today was a rough morning. I could barely sleep last night and when I finally went to sleep, I woke up coughing and not being able to breath. It got to the point where I started coughing up blood as I heaved for breath.

I grimace and run a hand down the front of my chest, the softness of my grey sweater shirt with a white animated monster on the front caressing my hand. A slight smile breaks on face as I glance over my outfit for the day. The sweater made me feel cute combined with black skinny jeans, grey Ugg boots, and a matching beanie.

Sighing, I hear my keys rattle in the bottom of my purse, claiming my attention and drawing me back into reality. Unlocking the door to my black Honda, I plop down into the driver seat. Once I get settled in, I pull my coat closer to my chest and lean back against the seat. The pain in my chest starts to increase from the coldness and snow, the frozen air squeezing my lungs tightly.

The grimace returns again as I squeeze my eyes shut before opening them. All I want is to be in my room, buried under my blankets and cuddling Dexter while watching tv. Leaning forward, I breath in deeply and place the key into the ignition. Turning on the car, I fiddle with the radio and connect my phone to it before bracing my hands on the wheel. With my foot on the break, I shift the gears and go to back up right as someone yanks open the passenger door and hops into the front seat.

Wide eyed, I look over and see the person with snow in their hair, staring at me.

"Ryan?" I question.
