Ch.10 To be or not to be

James takes off into the sky after packing up his things. He wants to cry but his eyes are just too dry. Midway while flying over the city he stopped by Gabriel and Caleb.

"Where are you going?" Caleb asks in a slightly compassionate but serious tone.

"I am not explaining myself to you. Now politely get out my way before I move you myself." James responds reaching for his sword.

Gabriel reaches for his guns as he says, "Think about this James, two of us and one of you and you haven't rested since gods knows when."

Then James punches Gabriel and kicks Caleb. "I am going to permanently paralyze you two if try to stop me," James says with red electricity and golden flames draped around him.

Caleb begins punch James at high speeds in anger causing James to blast him with fire. Gabriel engages in combat with James. Gabriel swings wildly giving James an opening to tackle him out the sky and slam him down into the city making a small crater. James begins to beat down on Gabriel as he says, "What am I supposed to do. My mother's soul is forever chained to a mysterious demon, we're clueless with what is going to happen with the upcoming prophecy and am I supposed to be the hero of this series of unfortunate events! This is nothing but bullshit!"

Gabriel with a now battered and bloody face grabs both of James's fists and headbutts him knocking him back a where Gabriel tackles James and begins to unleash his anger on James's face yelling at him, "Heroes aren't happy creatures their life will always be a living hell in which they cannot escape from those who they couldn't save. It's a slow tiresome process which ends in emptiness. You, James, are no hero you have no goal that helps the greater good. You're an avenger who has lost his cause." Gabriel continues to beat down on James until James erupts into an explosion of fire and lightning.

"This isn't just about your mother! You're using this as an excuse so that you can avoid the prophecy and the fact that your father knows you exist and chooses not to see you." Caleb yells at James.

"Shut Up!" James yells blasting Caleb and Gabriel away.

"Impressive." A commanding but relaxed voice says causing James to turn around to see a devilishly handsome pale brown man with black hair and yellow eyes wearing a black suit.

"Who are you?" James asks with slight disgust. Then looks around to see that time has stopped.

"Oh me? I'm Zeren god of darkness and current captor of your mother." The man responds.

"Silence!" James yells as he blasts fire at the supposed Zeren which phases right through him.

"Oh, you thought that I was actually here. I'm speechless, you're pretty dumb for an intelligent human being." Zeren says cocking his head back in a joking manner.

"Figment of my imagination! As you can see you're not that amusing, you know what actually, you're annoying. So, I demand, that you shut up!" James yells at the projection.

Zeren smiles then says, "Child I am no figment of your imagination. I am the real deal and if you want your mother back I'd advise that you listen closely."

James scowls then says, "If you are the real Zeren, I will kill you in ways..."

"Yeah, yeah heard it all before. Now on to more important things do you want your mother back or not, boy?" Zeren interrupts James.

James draws his golden blade then says, "You, this prophecy, and most of all the gods! Can utterly fuck themselves. And believe me when I say I will kill you, I will break you mentally, then physically and lastly spiritually."

Zeren begins to applaud James then says, "Are you sure you're not my son because most my kids are disappointments."

"Zeren! Leave my son open" Yells a tall dark-skinned man with long dreads and blazing red eyes followed by a tall blonde haired blue-eyed man.

"Keriayon, Tresterian! Brothers long time no see. Care to give your big brother a hug." Zeren says provoking the two other gods.

"I despise that you can look us in your face after all that you did!" Tresterian barks.

"After what I did? You paint me as a villain because my ambitions and power outgrew our so-called family. No, you were wrong, the fact that I was trying to bring order to this so-called planet and because you two painted this false image of me to our own siblings, I had no choice but to play the role of villain. And now you have the audacity to tell me you despise me. Hey Tresterian, shut the fuck up." Zeren roars back to his siblings.

"Hey family, could we stop squabbling please," James asks with a sarcastic tone. James walks up to Keriayon.

Zeren covers his mouth then says, "Shit just got real."

"If you're looking for an apology I promise you will not get one," Keriayon says in a cold tone.

James is now face to face with his father who was taller than him by a couple of inches. "Fuck an apology," James says then he spits in Keriayon's face. James smirks as he says, "So you're actually here." Keriayon face twists in anger as he backhands James through a nearby store.

"Humble yourself." Keriayon states to James who spits out blood and burst out of the rubble and begins to attack Keriayon but every jab, hook, uppercut, and kick is blocked by the god of fire. Keriayon grabs James's left leg after and swings James slamming him into the ground. Then places his foot on James's chest to keep him down.

"Now that was quite entertaining," Zeren says applauding Keriayon and James who is struggling under his father's foot.

"Begone! You're not wanted." Tresterian says now charging up his lightning.

Zeren erupts in laughter then says, "Or what? Will you come down to hell and kill me? Bitch, please! I would obliterate you, like--- a--- little--- bitch. Oh yeah, one more thing your daughter has more balls than you." Then Zeren disappears into a shadow which causes James to laugh.

"Tresterian let's grab your son and my other one." Keriayon says stomping on James's chest knocking him out then picks him up and grabs Gabriel who is still frozen in time while Tresterian grabs Caleb. They ascend into the heavens as time resumes to its original pace.
