Ch.29 Reunion

Gabriel points his gun at Asareth as he says, "Asa, explain."

Asareth laughs maniacally, "It's not just Asa here guess who?"

Asareth's response angers Gabriel as he pulls back the safety on his pistol as he says, "Why are you referring to yourself in the third person? What is wrong with you? Answer me before I kill you." Gabriel begins to feel the fear seep in as he begins to put the pieces together. "Reth! What the hell did you do!" Gabriel roars as he throws Caleb aside and charges at the demigod of darkness.

Asareth twist's her wrist as the scythe slashes Gabriel's after image. Then a blast of fire hits her in the back launching her forward into Gabriel's roundhouse kick and a fist to the face driving Asareth into the ground. Asareth coughs up blood. Then fades into a shadow and appearing behind Gabriel. Asareth begins to laugh as she squawks out, "There is no way I could beat you in a fair fight but before I go, I'll tell you a little something. Your mother survived the shadow demon attack on our old village but to test out my new power I killed her."

Gabriel's eyes begin to widen in shock as his anger explodes from his body forming a giant raging phoenix in the forest burning the rest of the trees. The Yutonese army looks at the enormous flame bird. They begin to attack the bird with magic and weapons but Gabriel was not amused as he ignites the army. They scream in agony a turn to ash. Asareth's hand appears out of a shadow and reaches for Ayane but Gabriel yanks her out the shadow and grabs her by the neck and says, "This is for my mom."

Then Asareth squeals as she says, "Are you sure you want to kill Asa too?" Gabriel tightens his grip as his irises fluctuate between red and orange. "I guess you do. But I'd prefer not to die here." As she engages her god slayer armor and rips herself away from Gabriel's grasp. She quickly picks up Ayane's odachi and engages the demon lord's power and blocks a barrage of fire. "Man, this sword is something else." She says as the sword strengthens her power.

Gabriel begins to condense the power of the Phoenix into his body. "Asa, I will liberate you from this psychopath of a brother." Then the Phoenix's aura condenses into two wings of fire and phoenix themed hand cannons. Then Gabriel engages his god slayer armor. Asareth charges at Gabriel who ducks under the wide slash radius of the odachi. Then he blasts her with a tower of fire with the hand cannons. But Asareth slashes through it with her darkness laced sword. She stabs down into Gabriel's shoulder trap, Gabriel grabs the blade to hold Asareth in place as he releases all his power in one shot obliterating Gabriel's armor from the sheer force and power.

Asareth stands at the other end of ground zero with smoke coming off her and only the boots of her god slayer armor were left. Gabriel stands up confidently then he feels a katana pierce right through his back. "You demigods are an extreme threat to the safety of Yuton. Consider this vengeance for my soldiers." A healed Ayane says as she drives the katana deeper into Gabriel back as it begins to poke through his chest. She pulls out the katana as Gabriel drop to the ground unconscious.

"Heal me Ayane!" Asareth screams out still stuck in her position. Ayane walks over there and heals her ally.

Ayane looks at the two unconscious demigods and says, "Who are these people, little sister and why does father want us to keep them alive?"

"I don't care why he wants them alive, honestly I don't know why you are helping me just because we have the same father. It makes no sense he abandoned you and want to help him anyway. I know I am insane but you are a completely different story." Asareth says.

"Maybe I am but does it matter. I am just ensuring Yuton's survival like any great leader. So, don't look at it as a sentimental decision it is just the logical conclusion." Ayane responds.

"Damn, that is cold now I believe you're my sister. Well anyways let's finish invading the city we could still do it by ourselves since we have a lot of time to kill." Asareth as with disinterest in the task that she suggested.

"Ok, that makes sense." Ayane says as they begin to walk over to Xing."
