Her mind invaded by the mysterious and terribly young leader. Hannah could not sit on a log, imagining this young woman heading back to whatever danger she fled. "Why bring the hurt child to the logged Heaven if she trusted no one?" she wondered.
Looking around, she thought the settlement could foster the other group. Suddenly, the golden leader was packing a backpack. Heading down the wooden stairs, Hannah alerted the first ranger on off guard duty, "I need on of you to take my spot at the tower!" she mentioned.
"I really wanted to spend my time off Hannah. I've been off for only an hour." he politely stated.
Hannah grimaced, "Fine, this is very important though!"
"Alright, I'm grabbing my gear and heading up the tower. We got you Hannah. Just remember I'll be expecting overtime when I finally get a day off." he laughed, leaving her to her pre-occupation.
Another settler passing by had cached a glimpse of their conversation, "Need a hand, boss?" he asked.
Feeling she had over worked her brother-in-arms over the past month she thought best to leave on her run by herself, trusting the camp would be safer with more people defending it. Especially after hearing the mysterious wanderer's story. She smiled at them, "No you guys take turn at squatting the tower and try to have some rest."
With things covered inside her walls, she was ready to track the young leader. Each night she lived out her worst fears through vivid nightmares, and each day her energy wanes more and more, wondering if she would have the strength to loose everything, once again.
During her absence, settlers had woken up to gun fire and screaming. “The dead broke through the gate!” was heard from survivors who were struggling to push away a herd of zombies from the east side and fought to stay ahead of an approaching army of savages from another. Only by working together they would evade capture.
