Once home to hundreds of families, an eerie silence had taken over the wooden haven only interrupted by the cracking of wood in the wind and the occasional bird who had made its home in one of the many collapsed roofs near the defense zone.
The sniper tower was where the golden leader, Hannah, was often found when she's isn't outside the walls, leading a scavenger hunt. Also because of its location covers the entire haven. Even where the settlers park cars and other vehicles.
The settlement included four small outposts located a few miles, outside the walls, encompassing the wooden haven. Logging Camps are used as home for the inhabitants.
No matter how survivors looked at it, this place was an sight to behold. Lives forgotten, perhaps completely ruined and there was barely anything to show for it.
But there was an awful feeling of hopelessness they couldn't escape from. Even if those who lived here returned, too much had been lost already and their lives would never be the same again.
Once arrived at the towered walls of the wooded haven, the soldiers were impressed with the fine work. Hannah stood in front of the gates as the inhabitants pulled them open.
Flower beds, fighting for their place in the garden, thankfully helped by the haven's inhabitants' hands.. The bushes and shrubs reach 4ft high, but they won't grow much taller than this.
Various stones hint at paths around the garden, almost taking people by the hand in order to show them the best sights. Vines are seemingly content with their positions in the garden, none trying to reach beyond, at least not yet.
Hannah's Rangers were the example survivalists. Out in the field, they were the only beings ready to patrol the roads between settlements, hunting down dangerous raiders and zombies, and did whatever else needed to be done to keep the peace.
Most are good men and women trying to make a difference. Some are not. Others are downright villainous. These dangers are the most dangerous Peacekeepers and are well-armed and highly efficient. They have to be, given the many dangers of the Deadly Region.
