"when did i say it was about aviana?" i asked.

"you know what, cam, i think it'd best if we went back to bed." grayson said, exiting the room, followed by cameron.

ethan, in the mean time, sat on his navy dark blue couch.

"what? what the hell could you possibly want?" ethan asked as he rested his elbows on his thighs.

"i want to talk to you."

"but you don't have to."

"you're right," i started,"i need to."

"fine, go ahead. make me want to cry and feel guilty."

"aviana misses you. she needs you. she's terrible without you." i said and ethan scoffed.

"seriously? she can walk around the whole town with a perfect smile and everyone will assume she's happy." ethan admitted.

"no, actually she hasn't left her apartment. the first time in forever was today at the tattoo shop when she saw you." i confessed.

"liar," ethan looked up. his eyes were red and puffy, but there were no tears. "how did i see her at the smoothie shop a couple of days before that?"

shit, i completely forgot about that.

"um, i-"

"get out of my house." ethan gritted his teeth as he spoke.

"o-okay."

"where did you go, t?" she asked me.

i completely forgot that aviana isn't the heaviest sleeper.

"um, ethan's apartment." i whispered out.

"what the fuck, t? oh no, what did you say?" aviana hit her head with her hand.

"i didn't say anything bad."

"sure, yeah. okay." she stood up while walking down the hall, i'm guessing into her room.

she came back about 5 minutes later wearing some black jeans, a black hoodie with the hood over, and some black nikes. all black...interesting.

"i'm going to the house. my mom called that it's a family emergency." aviana told me.

"okay, be safe."

"will do."

AVIANA'S POV

"what's up, mom? sorry i'm late. i came as soon as i could-" i was cut off by a tall, bold figure i've seen before. he looks so damn familiar.

"hey, pretty girl." he dragged out the word hey. his light green eyes had a splashy sparkle in them.

"hi, pretty boy." i smiled as our eyes met, shaking hands with him. his dirty blonde hair was slightly messy, but it looked nice. i think he caught on that i didn't know who he was, so he started speaking again.

"my name is-" i cut him off by immediately getting excited, joyful, and energetic.

"cody!" i jumped in his arms, wrapping my arms around his torso. i felt his chest vibrate as he chuckled. man, i missed the kid.

"nice to see you too, lamont." cody smiled and let go of our hug.

"haven't seen you in almost five years, cod." i admit, still believing it was surreal.

"because of my dumb mistake. i'm sorry, and i've really missed you." cody's eyes pierced onto my face, and i realized he hasn't changed. a bit taller, and little stronger and bolder, but he was the same.

"i've missed you too. and it wasn't dumb, you just knew that your career was more important than me." i chuckled.

cody, tatum and i would be the three musketeers in middle school to senior year of high school. then, he received a full ride scholarship from the three sports he played and went to university of oklahoma.

i figured he just ditched us, but he left me a nice, heart-touching note that explained everything.

"you know that's not true."

"i know."

"stop, cody, that's mine!" i whined,.

"nope, you said i could have it, so i got it!" he popped my last french fry in his mouth and smiled. i rolled my eyes in a funny way, and he laughed.

"i have to use the restroom real quick." i stood up, and cody went on his phone, nodding.

i pushed in my chair and walked across the room to the public restroom, seeing a man exit the men's room.

and there he was: dark hair looking sexy as fuck, his hazel eyes brighter than usual, and his jawline sharper than a fucking knife.

he looked happy. and he shouldn't be this happy. at least not now. he smiled when he saw me, walking towards me. i smiled too, charging the bold guy.

a silent laugh left his mouth, making me smile like an idiot. his eyes left contact with mine, but his smile remained.

his legs seemed to be more on the left side of my view, but then he walked straight past me.

i turned around, my eyes still on him. and when i looked at where he was walking too, i immediately felt my heart being shredded into millions and millions of pieces.

he was walking to a girl. but not just any girl. he was walking to nicola: my high school bully.

she was a lot more prettier now: thick, long, curled and blonde locks, atlantic ocean eyes, and the most perfect body of all time.

she was smiling too. and when he hugged her and kissed her cheek, it didn't hurt. i don't know why though. it felt like my heart was being dropped into a deep body of water and it started to sink. but that wasn't it. it felt like it was dissolving as it sunk. like i didn't have a heart anymore.

and that's when i realized, when it looked like, that he loves her more than he could ever love me.
