Scott didn't hear from Mitch until nearly 3pm the next day.
Mitch emerged from his bedroom for food, and he looked absolutely awful.
"Hi," he croaked, voice hoarse and eyes puffy.
Scott frowned at the sight.
His back was sore today because he slept on the couch that night, not wanting to disturb Mitch.
"Hey," Scott answered, looking back at the TV show he was watching.
The sight of Mitch so distraught made his heart clench.
"I'm okay now," Mitch whispered, getting on the couch and curling up next to Scott, as close as possible.
"Good. You really had me worried there."
Scott shut the TV off, deciding Mitch was more important.
He pulled Mitch onto his lap and let the smaller man nuzzle into his shirt.
"I missed you last night."
Scott had too.
The couch was lonely without Mitch to fill in the space.
"I missed you too. I didn't want to bother you."
"You could never bother me."
